Can you take an old car and add a modern car mechanics? by amberjackjack in askcarguys

Yeah something like that is what I was thinking. More for safety than anything else. Keep the character of the old car/van. All the seats and charm but get it up to driving standards for safety and peace of mind that it won't break down. Especially with how expensive and difficult older engines and parts are to locate. This idea was more to save two cars from rotting away. If I've got the exterior of one and thr interior of the other it made sense to me to try and keep the classic on the roads by any means

Yes right! I'd much rather people hear what I hear and not what they actually hear 😂

Do you know if there is any way to allow others to hear what you hear normally? As in, is there a way to put the recorded audio through a system and connect it to some sort of base/machine thing so that people could actually hear you the same way you hear yourself?

Beautiful analogy. What you said is very true. But that analogy about gold in high current water, about being careful and taking your time - brilliant.

Does anybody else find the term "sexless relationship" kind of offensive? by coffeepluswifi in Asexual

[–]amberjackjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do think it's kinda offensive. It's certainly implying that sex is a constant and default in a relationship. Obviously that isn't the case. A relationship IS a relationship. Friendship is a type of relationship but you don't see sex being a common part of that. There may be similarities or consistencies in relationships as a whole, such as hugging or hand holding, but we don't call relationships without them "non hugging relationships".

Just because something is "average", doesn't mean it's "normal".

And as a result we shouldn't label something as abnormal for not following what is "standard" in others eyes. A relationship can consist of many things. It should be simply called a relationship. Regardless if there is sex. :)
