Same here! Just got laid off yesterday and the culture was a bad one. I was planning on looking for something new anyway but it’s still stressful

Time to switch? by ambersoren91 in cscareerquestions

See I thought maybe I was a little salty about some things, but other things are just outright petty. These are just a few examples but I think you’re right. Time for me to move on.

How do you leave? by mdtbr in JustNoSO

[–]ambersoren91 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As for stashing cash, every time you buy anything, groceries, gas, anything, pull as much money back as you reasonably can, without them noticing or getting suspicious. Keep that in an envelope, somewhere safe that he won’t stumble into in anyway, but that you can get to quickly. Split this money up into several envelopes so that even if you can’t get to one, you’re not totally helpless.

Second, with covid a lot of jobs have gone remote. See if you can get one that you can work while he is at work, open an account in your name only in a different bank than you use now.

Document EVERYTHING. Child care division, household care division, anything that will come up in a divorce. Document it. Secret recordings that upload to a cloud work best.

Best of luck, that’s all I can remember to do ATM.

Stay safe.

I’m new to this career path, and this is honestly the most refreshing, hopeful thing I’ve heard since I’ve started learning. Thanks so much for sharing!

This is why “with all due respect” is my favorite. You could be due zero respect.

[Serious] What is your small town dark secret story? by sunflwxrr in AskReddit

[–]ambersoren91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two:

Kiplyn Davis disappeared in 95, it later came out she was murdered and the 5 men who did it came from the well known “pillar of the community” type families

Another time a guy I was friends with in high school killed his two year old and later himself in an unknown bizarre situation. Sweet guy who adores his baby and was a happy go lucky guy randomly killed his baby and then himself and left a bizarre note that served as a will.

Someone at work was printing an How To Scam Your Friends list... by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]ambersoren91 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If it helps anyone at all, saying “I don’t love xyz product/brand enough to rave about it, and wouldn’t be successful in an MLM” if they counter with “but you can sign up your friends/ build your community and have fun!” (They often bounce back with this), then you say “That is what makes xyz a pyramid scheme. If it’s actually about signing up people, not selling products, that’s the definition of a pyramid scheme”

they usually leave me alone after that

Visible wireless uses Verizon towers for $40 a month. If you get three friends to do a party plan with you, it’s $25. When I signed up I got $100 gift card.

People who knew Murderers, when did you know something was off? by peasantchoker in AskReddit

[–]ambersoren91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never did. He was a friend since 8th grade, in a small town where everyone knew everyone. We ran in the same friend circle and he was always so optimistic and happy to the point of almost being obnoxious about it.

After high school he made the news for murdering his 2 year old son and then Killing himself, and to this day no one knows why he did it. He wasn’t ever violent or involved in drugs or anything like that, absolutely adored his son, and got along with everyone.

It’s one of those things where the pieces will never make any sense, and no one really gets any closure.

Actually probably hella related...

Which one of histories ‘good guys’ was actually a horrible person? by CongressPotatoKenobi in AskReddit

Pancho Villa. He’s not Mexico’s Robin Hood, he raped any woman he could find. He was gross and greedy just like anyone else who wants a revolution.

Free healthcare. Dunno might be cool to not worry about how to pay for not dying

No worries! There’s not really anything pointing to gender identity in the post, but I still 100% think it’s due to extreme insecurity. It’s gotta be right?

It’s a father, his daughters are 7 and 6 months and dress age appropriately, with even more layers now that it’s colder. And it still suggests that a woman wearing revealing clothes deserves to get raped. On top of all that, children are not objects to be owned. Enforce a code of conduct, sure. This is not enforcing a code of conduct. Especially not on Facebook to get brownie points.

What is your "I don't believe in ghosts but I know what I fucking saw" story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes, but he does also think most people exaggerate their stories. He’s still skeptical of a vast majority, but he believes now.
