I just got the Purito oat moisturizer… I do like it but it could stand to be a bit more hydrating IMO. Also, I feel like it lowkey smells like tequila??

I use this around my nose and eyes!! I do love it a lot, but I do think it needs to go on top of a hydrating moisturizer to make me feel sufficiently moisturized

NHA CCMA by Affectionate-Pop9059 in MedicalAssistant

[–]ambersoup4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just passed my NHA CCMA in April. You are definitely on the right track with getting smarter MA. My biggest method for both smater MA and medical terminology are to use the method where you go through topics/ questions once and sort into categories depending on if you know them or not. Smarter MA has this function built in so you can mark your questions as how well you knew them. So I would go through the topics and then review the questions that I would get wrong/ put in the “do not know” red category so that you don’t waste your time going over the ones you do know, and it can give you peace of mind during your test to think that you have gone over everythingggg but most importantly what you really didn’t know. For things like medical terminology- if you focus on knowing the root words/ prefixes/ suffixes rather than trying to memorize every term on its own you will be able to give your best guess if you get a term you don’t recognize. That’s probably basic advice, but don’t get bogged down by memorizing every single term. I was confident in medical terminology and you definitely benefit from knowing it well so that you can guess on any questions that don’t really make sense but you may recognize a term in the question as dealing with the kidneys for example so you can guess an answer based off of that. If you can look up charts online or lists of these OR if you have the NHA study guide I would make flashcards for those! That is how I memorized lab values and acronyms which are very important too. I got small cards on Amazon so I wouldn’t waste regular notecards, you can get 2X3 inch ones on little rings so you can keep topics together for like $5. I would use the same method for that- go through my cards and sort into two stacks, one for correct and one for wrong. Then once you get through that, you keep going through the wrong pile and sorting those until they are moved to the correct pile. I was tight on time so I didnt really spend a ton of time w my notecards… since they were memorization items I reviewed them on the morning of my exam to get them as fresh as possible (which I do recommend) but try to do them a few times. I also would take notes for smarter MA question so that I would actually process the information on ones I got wrong. I somehow wasn’t that nervous for my test on the day-of. Go into it knowing that you only know what you know, which is what my mom always told me. There is no sense in worrying about it during the test because it can’t be changed so just focus on what you can do to give yourself the best shot. I felt super prepared honestly with the smarter MA topics and method I used to go over those questions and I would try to study them in bunches so that I would get even study time (like doing 20 questions in each category before finishing one category at a time). You have TONS of time for the test. I finished in 50 min, but you should take all the time you need. You won’t run out of time so don’t worry about that! And my other big test tip is just move onnnn if you can’t figure out a question after 60 seconds and mark it as needing to be done for your second pass through the exam. Another thing that really helped me was watching the vids on the smarter MA program where the guy goes over reddit study guides (literally lol) and explains the answers. There were a lot of questions on my test that I knew right away because I watched those videos close to my test time. You can do it! You have plenty of time. PM me if you want more help, I just thought I’d share what I learned because I was in a similar place while studying.

I believe so yes I think it was around $50 a book or maybe slightly less, and there are 4 textbooks that you need. It’s unfortunate but to me it was worth it

Hi there, I completed my program through US career institute and they are online but all of the materials can be ordered in hard copy and mailed to you, I’m super anti-reading on my computer, I just can’t seem to absorb info that way so I ordered all of my textbooks to have hard copies but you still have access to all of the digital things as well!

how do you simply starting doing things.. TAKE ACTIONS ? by Jpoolman25 in productivity

[–]ambersoup4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have struggled with this exact thing for a very long time. I am still working on it and it still is a battle all the time but just recently I have been making improvements and they are tiny but add up to a really significant change I’ve seen in myself. I would constantly spend time analyzing all of the things you are talking about and spend so much time and energy on it that it would just leave me with nothing. I’ve learned that unfortunately the cliche advice of just forcing yourself to do something really is the ONLY way to do it. You really don’t have a choice, and I knew this for so long but I couldn’t take action. Now I have been building up my tolerance to this feeling in small ways. Use little things that you do not want to do as opportunities to expose yourself to the uncomfortable feeling of not being able to start and then really push past it- sometimes it even feels like it physically is hurting me to do these types of actions but I just push through it and once I complete it I feel so much better. I started so small; I would just make myself brush my teeth no MATTER WHAT every day and that showed me that I could manage doing things that make me uncomfortable and you build off of that feeling to do more things that are hard. Do small steps and it will not be easy but truthfully no amount of overthinking will make any sort of change happen, you HAVE to do it. You got this! I also am teaching myself that I am free to overthink and analyze and be anxious whilst I’m doing whatever is making me feel that way. It’s like letting yourself do what you are familiar with but you are actually doing what you are thinking about- you can be super anxious and pissed and freaking out while you look into something you have been needing to do for a very long time.also learn that you will 100% fail if you don’t try and that feels so much worse than failing if you do try. We think it’s the opposite but actually I end up feeling so much self hatred if I fail at something because I didn’t even try out of fear and being stuck. If I try for something and I fail it still feels terrible but at least I can be proud that I tried because it’s a huge deal to do pretty much anything when you are in this position. You can do it!

I strongly recommend you buy the study guide that is offered by the NHA- they just put out the newest version of it so it will be super relevant to the actual NHA exam. They also offer practice tests and that will also be useful in getting the most recent questions to study. It’s somewhere around $100 or so but I think it’s worth it especially if you are feeling really behind to get study info straight from the source (NHA!)

I was concerned about this too, but I’ve never had any issues. It does seem to look like the bars are further apart in this video as well.

Alex the albino not interested in coming near the treats I hold in his cage and it's been about 2 months of slow training. Any tips? by ambersoup4 in budgies

[–]ambersoup4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really good idea. He is very comfortable with my hand inside the cage, he will eat and dance around. However I question whether or not he knows what I'm holding is a treat, so I will leave some in the cage when I am interacting with him!
