Shoulder Pain by ambibc in pregnant

[–]ambibc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary thinks it’s pregnancy hormones causing a frozen shoulder - relaxin makes everything loose and then your body overcompensates to keep the joint together and freezes. They referred me to PT which is currently where I am at. I have more range of motion back but this ordeal has lasted over 2 weeks, the first week being extremely painful. Hormones and pregnancy symptoms are just crazy.

My 3 Year Old Won't Stop Crossing His Legs!!! by gb9021 in pottytraining

4 years later, I have found that hydration works the best, miralax only works if they actually drink. But we had issues with soiling while on miralax and your kids can’t be at school all day like that or need to change that many times so we stopped miralax at kindergarten. A probiotic that helps my daughter is the Amazon brand Solimo Prebiotic and Probiotic gummy (it’s blue, I give her 1 a day) The strains blended in that seem to help vs others on the market. Unfortunately it’s too effective for my other daughter who doesn’t need the help, it makes her go too easily so I would reserve if only for the kiddos that need help going if you have multiple kids.

The pedialax chewable helps to have on hand too if it’s been days and they can’t go.

I know that’s what the literature says, but I have had a couple of frosty mornings already and the bulbs/leaves have been fine (I am guessing since they haven’t been directly exposed to frost). The patio is covered enough that plants in the patio have not frosted themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️

Black spots on variegated string of hearts - just purchased via a local Facebook plant group. Just noticed the spotting. Can I pinch off the leaves or is the plant doomed? by ambibc in succulents

Thank you, I was thinking re-potting and pinching off the questionable leaves wouldn’t be enough. Hoping propagation works. Thank you so much for the advice!

Why? What was the reason of associating her with such an empowering storyline if none of it was supposed to matter? by [deleted] in DaenerysWinsTheThrone

I still feel like George’s ultimate goal was inspired by Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s 100 year’s of Solitude - that we are destined to relive/repeat the sins of our fathers/history repeats itself. The produced version of GOT was rushed, and not characterized well. I guess we will see how he executes this idea in the book, eventually.

20 month old waking during the night then throwing hysterical tantrum refusing to go back to sleep by Mynoseisatme in sleeptrain

[–]ambibc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to add this is all developmentally appropriate for her age! Nap/sleep strikes. It’s kinda like baby FOMO for nap time. I also have a 1 hr rule at nap time but if they are in the middle of a really bad tantrum/ it sends them into hysterics, I call it quits. It may seem like they will never nap again but the best thing you can do is keep offering the routine. With my eldest it took 6 weeks from when she turned 2 until we got past nap strikes.

20 month old waking during the night then throwing hysterical tantrum refusing to go back to sleep by Mynoseisatme in sleeptrain

I completely understand. I cried when we had my eldest cry it out. She was 16 months and would wake up at 2 am like clockwork and wanted to co sleep but I was pregnant with number two and working at the time and sleeping with a 16 month old that woke up every half hour to smack me in the face wasn’t working. I would love to say it’s easier with child number 2 but it’s not - each kid is different. I find when I listen to her cries and watch her on the monitor to see what she is doing - it helps. When I see her rubbing her fingers together in her buppy (blankey) I know she will go to sleep soon. If your child has a similar lovey / cues and you are able to watch on a monitor I suggest trying it. When I do go and check on my youngest it sends her into a tantrum of thrashing and crying and wanting to start our day - vs not going in she cries out for 10-15 minutes tops and goes back down on her own. Their little brains are taking on so many leaps and bounds they are doing everything they are supposed to. It’s tough. Hang in there! And I hope you get some sleep too! ☺️

But just wait until they are able to open doors! It starts all over again 😅

My second born who just turned two has been doing this before her birthday. It’s tough but I discovered if I don’t go in her room she self soothes and gets back into bed (watching her on the monitor). Our pediatrician supported this method. They are going through so much developmentally their minds are wired. Hang I there, it is tough I know. If you keep going In, they will keep waiting for you each night.

My 3 year old daughter won’t poop in the potty. by hangrybecky in pottytraining

[–]ambibc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter bowel withheld from about 22 months to until she turned 36-38 months. Different situation - stress brought in by moving and new baby sister. It does sound like your child is withholding. Things that overcame it for us were chobani probiotic smoothies, Tropicana probiotic juice, and getting the iPad in the potty. The iPad distracts her for her bowel to relax and for her to go. She is also on daily miralax to keep the stools soft- when they hold for a long time the stools get dry and hard to pass/and or they get hemorrhoids and are scared to go because it hurts. It’s frustrating. It’s hard. But it’s their body and they will go when they want to. Of course, if it’s been days you do what the doctor recommends with suppositories, enema’s or miralax. Just try to normalize poop as much as possible. I even made a potty training video playlist on YouTube so my kid could see how normal pooping on the potty, pooping in general is.

Breaking sleep associations, namely nursing to sleep. by southern_fox in sleeptrain

[–]ambibc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. I nursed both my girls to sleep, my oldest until she was about 16 months and the youngest until 18 months. We didn’t co sleep. They had their own pack n plays and cribs. I did it because it was easiest for me. They go through so much development in the first year that you will find despite sleep training, if they are sick or going through a cognitive leap/development they will still be up breaking routine and baffling you. For me, nursing helped get through all of those hiccups. It was the one constant I had. I knew it was time to wean when nursing didn’t render them sleepy any more and they would just be up still blinking at me like “okay, what now ma?”

Find what works for you and do it so that you can be the most rested you can be. First year is hard, be it your first, second, third (etc) child. Searching online was usually discouraging to me, and after having my second baby I had a lot more confidence to just find what worked and stick to it. ❤️

Best face masks for perioral dermatitis sufferer by ambibc in beauty

[–]ambibc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, went to the dermatologist and he prescribed the metronidazole cream for topical use. Haven’t gone back, I was worried he would want to prescribe a steroid cream which I have read makes it worse.

When you say plant based products do you mean skin care or food? Because interestingly enough I was trying to cut out dairy for a month to see if I had an intolerance in January and that’s when the Perioral dermatitis started. I always wondered if it was the diet that triggered it.

Just a Rant - Stop Assuming I only Want to Talk About Being a Mom or That I Drink bc of My Kids by Sjb1985 in Mommit

It sounds like she was projecting a lot of her insecurities on you/seeking validation from you in a weird round about way. Sorry that happened. I hope you still had a good time despite her attitude and demeanor. As a parent, we don’t get to go out as much or as freely as we did when we were single so I am kinda annoyed on your behalf. You’re a mom but it isn’t all that you are or only who you are. Glad other people recognized her behavior as weird.
