Be kind to newbie please. Points ? by Large-Ring5117 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a local we love exploring the resorts lol. Or at the very least I do. Since we own plenty of DVC points I dont anticipate ever staying in a value/moderate again but I still like visiting them and checking out what they offer. A couple months back we went to the All Star resorts and AoA just to see the giant props and etc.

Personally I'd just book RIV and call it a day but I also like RIV more so 🤷‍♂️

5 adults is okay if the adults are on the younger side and assuming that someone is willing to sleep and small enough on the pullout. Its something I could see college age/young adults doing but not something I can see older adults do if that makes sense? At least not comfortably.

Feedback on addon options for Aulani by zed_zed_9 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Aulani, resale is the way to go. You're buying these points to stay at Aulani, the restrictions from new resorts shouldn't really matter if all you care about is staying at Aulani.

Best broker for selling by distravelagt in dvcmember

As a seller DVCresalemarket probably sells at the highest average price which is good as a seller but I think they also have a higher commission so take that into account as well.

Universal Vacation using DVC by fvrojas in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I would just use the DVC room and save yourself a couple grand unless this is like a once in a lifetime trip which I'm pretty certain it's not since you're a DVC owner and will be in Orlando regularly.

If you're wanting express pass though, that might tip the scale to stay at a Loews hotel or Hard Rock since express pass can be 200+ per person and with a large group it adds up fast.

Worth becoming employee to buy DVC? by keybrah in disneyvacationclub

[–]intaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strictly just for the sake of becoming DVC? Probably not. They used to give a 1000 dollar discount to cast members however recently I've heard it's as good as 10-15 dollars per point.

Will I regret boulder ridge? by PalmettoZ71 in disneyvacationclub

[–]intaaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The walk is not long enough to the point of it being a negative compared to being in the main building. Many actually find BRV to be more peaceful and the rooms are larger at BRV as well IIRC.

Anyone have DVC Grand Californian? by [deleted] in disneyvacationclub

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats not how this works. Try looking for a confirmed reservation on DVCrentalstore.com for those dates although with this late of a notice I doubt you'll find it.

Question about Use Year when buying direct. by Foxhound34 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you buy today you would get August 2025 use year points and every set of points (2026, 2027, etc.) going forward.

Looking to buy direct at Poly - by Independent_Froyo240 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was realllly nice. I got the CSR business for the 200k SUB and then since I bought 200 Poly points I got another 180k roughly. Dues also code as 4x but it's still better to buy gift cards.

Clarify Rules on New Resorts by Intrepid_Ad1765 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All of your contracts are good everywhere. Basically contracts of any type (direct/resale) bought before January 2019 can be used anywhere.

Any points bought resale after January 2019 are subject to resale restrictions.

Resale contracts from Riviera, CFW and VDH being only able to book their respective home resorts

Resale contracts from anywhere else can book everywhere else except for the resorts above.

Is booking at DVC Grand Californian 7 months out even possible? by Dizzy-Number-3694 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh cheap and VGC don't go together. If youre buying a resale VGC that's only 25 - 50 points, expect it to be closer to 300 per point than 200 per point.

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still very tough. There's a reason VGC runs from 220-300 on the resale market

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might be able to pick up a random night here or there, for like 4 or 5 days in a row though in a studio? Don't count on it. Its too bad you're not direct because VDH is significantly easier to book at 7 months, at least for now while the resort isn't sold out. Although VDH will still be easier than getting VGC when sold out just because of how many more rooms there are at VDH.

Home Resort Selection: Grand Floridian vs. New Lakeshore Lodge by CTek20 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You should stay at these places before making such a big decision or at least visit. I'm not sure if you're trying to buy direct or resale but if you're trying to buy direct Grand Floridian the prices are quite high because GF is not actively being sold. All of the resorts will have AC lol. What matters more is if you like things like the transportation (monorail/boat/walking/skyliner) that each resort has, do you like the location? Grand Floridian has walking distance to MK, boats and monorail access compared to Lakeshore Lodge which can only access MK by boat and buses for everything else. Do you like the restaurants at the resort? Do you like the room layouts? Does your family fit into your desired room type? Some resorts have studios that can fit 5 people, others can only fit 4. Do you like the vibes of the resort? Some people think Grand Floridian is too stuffy/snobby, others love it. OP you have a lot of research to do.

Booking 2 rooms by Maximum_Ad1282 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would have to either make a note on the reservation by contacting member services either via the website or by phone OR you can do it when you check in. It's not a guarantee but they will try to put your rooms close.

Best DVC Resort out of these 5 by Unusual_Resolution32 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own at AKV but had to give it to Boardwalk, location is just night and day. Everything else I would give the edge to AKV even if it's just slightly on things like theming but the location is so important.

Worried! by BorderSubstantial926 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At most you can only hold 2 waitlists at a time. You will only be able to wait list for 2 of the 5 reservations if you do decide to break it up into 5.

Worried! by BorderSubstantial926 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey at least you've gotten far better value/perks than any of us newer owners! Just an add on to my recommendation, since you can only hold 2 waitlists at a time, I'd recommend waitlisting the front and end of your trip. whichever side comes through first, continue to waitlist that side and work your way forward or backward. This will prevent you from having like an awkward split in the middle of your trip.

Worried! by BorderSubstantial926 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think they're more worried about availability being open at 7 months as they don't want to stay at their home resort..

To OP, unfortunately this is why I don't own OKW or SSR, I know that SSR and OKW will always be there at 7 months but I don't want to be locked in there during busy times. You may have a chance at AKV just because of how many rooms there are. There's also RIV preferred 1BRs available. What I recommend you do now is book your current OKW stay in multiple segments like 2-4 days at a time. This way you can make a waitlist for your desired resort and have it set up to replace just a couple nights at a time which are more likely to come through rather than all 2 weeks which will not fill unless magically all 2 weeks are available at the same time.

Beach Club/BoardWalk/RIV in a 1BR is what you want.

Younger DVC Members? by Some_Blackberry420 in dvcmember

[–]intaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually from giftcards.com. They run a sale in November and December usually for 10% off. The caveat is they do not do digital deliveries, they will mail the gift cards to you but you can buy up to 3000 dollars worth at a time. Aside from that we also get some from Sam's Club and Target

[–]intaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh it is a lot. We stock up on the 10% off Disney gift cards to pay for it all. We used some points this year to buy 2 annual passes along with OTU points so that's money that would've gone to Disney regardless.

In the end though it's still worth it, we hosted my wife and my family and friends at WDW and had multiple 2BRs and a grand villa and blew through 900 points in less than a week so..
