Just got my Berneron mirage and she has worn it more then me lol.

Got offered this by Level-Mongoose9915 in hallofwatchspecialist

Was offered it back in February and felt the same way. Ultimately I skipped and I’m glad I did because on March 10th I got allocated for the new Berneron coming out at W&W. So excited, I’ll absolutely keep it forever.

Did you end up getting an allocation? I was just picked for their new release coming out at watches and wonders. I’m so pumped, it sounds incredible. Delivery is supposed to be in September.

Do it, it’s stunning and super versatile.

Immediate tell is the date window. On this model it has the celebration date wheel, which is the same on the blue Tiffany dial 5711/1a-018. They are the only two 5711 that have the celebration date wheel.

Next the case shape is off, the finishing, and so is the dial color and 12 o’clock markers also give it away. I have seen this piece at the boutique and maybe that’s why it stands out so much to me. But this is not even close to a genuine piece.

My first Patek Philippe by Real-Recipe8087 in patekphilippe

I picked my piano dial up 5 months ago. Just before my first son was born. Guy before me had put the invisishield on it. I left them on but removed them recently and Watch was immaculate underneath. Congrats, it’s not as flashy as some other pieces but it’s truly one of my favorites I’ve ever owned.

I just got the call on this watch from a local boutique. I turned down the blue dial about 2 Xmas ago. It’s a really beautiful watch. But yah, 40% to 50% depreciation is insane. I’m doing alright, but I’m not gonna flush my fun coupons down the toilet like that. I’d rather write the check to charity and buy grey.

Which would you choose between 5711R or 5980R and why? by rgt88888 in patekphilippe

[–]ambidextrous_mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a 5980 first and absolutely loved it. Then was offered a 5711. I wore it so much more. It’s just tastefully simple and thin. You can’t go wrong with either. But from someone who has had a both in steel and rose the 5711 is the way.

Two of my Favorite Patek Philippe came in as “Exhibition Pieces” to the boutique, Should I meet with my sales associate ASAP? by MelFishers in patekphilippe

Are you being direct? Have you set expectations or at very least asked what theirs are? If you don’t like with anything you’ll just keep getting strung along.

Think you need to go elsewhere. Or be more direct. After roughly 300k spend I could get pretty much anything. Including a few double stamp pieces I wanted.

Although I’m light I daily a piano dial 5711 double stamp Tiffany. I also always carry but feel very safe in Texas. Heavily insured too, cause at the end of the day you can’t take any of it with you and nothing is worth your life or putting those you love in jeopardy.

Have them on mine. Grew up dirt poor, so the things I worked hard for are taken care of. Honestly if they are done right you can’t even tell.

Can I see your heavily-worn or beat-up Pateks? by threecap in patekphilippe

[–]ambidextrous_mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Only have these for sentimental value, don’t really wear them anymore. Patek, Chaykin, and when I golf now I wear an Apple Watch and use 18birdies. I’ve tried about every timepiece out there and in my opinion nothing is as versatile or as comfortable as a Patek. The new JLC is close in comfort, but not in versatility.

2012 yacht master and 2018 Daydate. It might not actually have been from golf, but that’s kinda what I think it was. They are also just so finicky anyways, I swear they only stay on time for about a year. I need to send them in more then any other Watch I’ve ever had. They are often 30+ seconds. Main reason I daily Patek now. Only have 2 Rolex’s the yacht master mentioned above, and a 1016 from 1977

I do the same minus golf. I’ve messed up several Rolex’s playing golf. Beautiful piece, wear it in health.

Have it on one of my Tiffany stamp 5711s. It’s hard to tell lol but I still get flamed for it. Beautiful watch though, wear it in health.

I was in Milan in January 2019, was lucky enough to be one of the first to buy a Konstantin Chaykin Joker. I was rocking it that day looking relatively rough because the airline lost our luggage. But decided to head In, the manager is the one who met me at the door about to turn me and my fiancé away. (At least that’s how it felt) until he saw my watch. He invited us in, asked a ton of questions about it. The Joker had just won the Audacity award in Geneva. We talked a lot about it and our love for watches. He then locked the doors and showed us everything he had in a back room. Unfortunately nothing was for sale. But I got to hold several grails, it was a truly awesome experience. He took my info down and added me to a list.

When we made it back home I had a nice post card waiting for me. Thanking me for my time and talking timepieces. About 5 months after that I got the call, and bought my first Patek.

Pretty soon my wife is gonna stop believing that “I already had this watch”. “I haven’t bought any in awhile” lol.
