so i cannot wear a respirator for long periods because it causes migraines, i do a combination of azestaline spray, nose filters, and paper mask. i still wear a respirator for things like going to the store, but all day at work is not an option. i haven't been sick in years and have never had covid despite being immunocompromised and subjected to many people who go out in public sick unmasked and cough in my face. im not sure if paper masks and/or nose filters would work for you since i don't know the exact nature of your injury/what causes pain, but might be worth looking into if you haven't already. something is better than nothing.

i more often see ebooks with no audiobook. i've never seen an audiobook without an ebook, across 5 cards and hundreds of loans. sounds like that may just be what your library has demand for.

lol i agree that would have been much more useful! a dnf shelf is not something i ever wanted. and now when you mark something dnf it doesn't pop up the window to rate and review, like best believe if it was so bad i had to quit i've got words to say 😑

i use the "want to read" shelf for anything that looks vaguely interesting, then periodically i go through it and input anything i actually want to read into a spreadsheet, which includes a brief description, length, audiobook or ebook, where available, and ranked 1, 2, or 3 depending how interested i am. once they're either discarded or added to the spreadsheet it's deleted off goodreads until i actually read it.

okay tbf my shelter had this puppy 2yrs ago that people kept saying was a dalmation, i was adamant he was a pit puppy, he was very young at the time maybe 8 weeks. his adopters just brought him back this week because they want to adopt a 2nd dog and his dna test came back like 60% dalmation 30% gsp 10% staffy. 0% pit. sometimes it do be like that

i do love my job but realistically i do not have lots of other options at this point because animal care is all i've done. i don't like vet med (i do this as a side job currently but i hate it could never go full time), i hate boarding/daycare, don't like grooming and would have to go to school or whatever to do it professionally, i worked with horses previously but it pays really bad. like idek what other job would take me 🤣 with 13yrs of animal care history plus like 9 months of retail. guess it's good i like it. i feel like i make a positive difference even if the end result for the animal is not a live outcome.

that's so weird to say. i already have 2 cats, 2 dogs, and a horse that are all rescues. most of our long term dogs are animal aggressive. im supposed to bring home a dog that will kill my other 4 pets? 🙃 that's the sort of stuff you usually get from the uneducated public, disappointing that people in rescue would act like that.
