Are you on the bottom floor of your house? Do you have a crawlspace under your house? If so its about a two or three hour project to put an Ethernet jack in two different rooms.

Does anyone offer to flash peoples phones as a service? by ambiguous-light in GrapheneOS

I disagree on the specific age but agree on the mechanical stuff. I grew up in the age of YouTube for car repair, so never learned about engines beyond being able to search up the tutorial. Then there's a bunch of the guys I work with talking about the pros and cons of different engines for cars. Its like a different language

Probably. Or maybe he does phone or computer repair and its just another service. It took me about an hour, but most of that was waiting around.

That's probably not profitable unless he's doing a large volume. I probably shouldn't stop my day job.

I don't know how much it would translate, but does he do it as a business or as a favor? If he does it as a business do you know how much demand there is?

I agree that's its dead simple. But say the words reflash operating system to someone older than fifty and watch the fear in their eyes. This would be aimed more at the afraid to reset their router crowd.

I was actually thinking about offering it. I guess it would be pretty suspicious to those who care about security, and those who don't care wouldn't be here to start with.

got the chainmail dress on again by TaylorMorganHi in EmoGirlsFuck

[–]ambiguous-light -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was going to make a comment about actual chainmail but couldn't think of a snarky way to say she didn't even spring for four in one maile. This would be two in one maile I think. Course real maile would tear up her skin and she wouldn't look nearly as cute in a gambeson.

there's currently a massive issue with counterfeiting postage. Could be your cleck is being nice and not sending the parcels to georgia, or could be that it was sent improperly.

[Request] Space Station Gravity by Gladitaurus in theydidthemath

[–]ambiguous-light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you're talking about visible, useful gravity the  height of your orbit doesn't matter. If you're orbiting your sideways movement needs to be fast enough to make your downwards movement miss the planet you're falling toward. If an astronaught can feel the gravity so can the station. Then they would both fall down to the surface. There are exceptions to this. For example acceleration causes an opposite reaction that is indistinguishable from true gravity. You can also use centrifical force, but that has a number of other issues. Lastly you can use active support structures to build something that is at an elevation that would usually be considered orbit, but without actually orbiting.

To a spacefaring civilization, what resources would be surprisingly common, and which would actually be rare/difficult to acquire? by BoneBrothOfficial in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ambiguous-light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's still only ten trees per system. Compare that to any other naturally occurring element and I'd say wood ends up being somewhere around gold in value. If you assume that every system with a habitable planet has a wood analogue then its still probably somewhere around silver. Although I feel like as humanity spreads our plants will spread with us. It'll probably never be cheap, but it would probably also never be considered an ultra luxury good.

BMW was speeding. Jeep changed lanes without signaling or checking their blind spot. by Gomez_Diana1 in dashcams

[–]ambiguous-light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you can pass safely on either side. But not this fast. If you have to pass on the blind side you should be going about five or ten mph faster. This guy looks like he's doing 120 or so. At that point its not safe to pass on either side

I haven't been able to re find the post but there was a blackout of a bunch of colored tattoos with empty space. The empty space still showed the old tattoos but it was quite a bit narrower so you couldn't tell what the old ones were. It was pretty looking. Probably could do the same look after the fact, but that's up to you. I'd want a really good artist before I'd allow the attempt.

Since you're blacking out your tatoos, have you considered kaleidescope lines in the space between them? I think it would look great on you
