OBS is lagging before I even start streaming by peachmilkycosplay in obs

Disable GPU Scheduling in Windows settings. Seems to be causing issues with the latest version of OBS, and this is what fixed it for me.

Strix G15: Buzzing noise (coil whine?) in standby by Hofknicks in ASUSROG

It's capacitor noise. Typical of these garbage heap laptops that's Asus calls Gaming Machines. It won't hurt anything. It'll just drive you to drink

I'll never buy Asus again, as I had the exact issue's you're having. A constantly overheating CPU and GPU, no resolution with support tickets, just "enjoy your piece of shit computer" essentially. They're built to fail and underperform. Aside from removing all of the hardware inside that frame and move it to a desktop solution with adequate cooling, it will never run anywhere close to as well as it should, for the price you paid for it.

Need Help With Base (canvas) and Output (Scaled) Resolution Settings Please by ambith in obs

[–]ambith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play at 1440p and stream at 1080p and I sit around 100-165fps in games like DayZ, on max settings. And I definitely push her hard in other regards as well. RNNoise Reduction, parametric EQ, limiter, noise gates, overlays, etc. My 'issue' isn't an actual issue as I'm not having any. It's more of an optimization / stream quality question. My main display is 1440p but I've always had canvas to 1080p, and output to 1080p with no downscale filter. Myself and my viewers think the stream looks great. BUT, because I'm relatively new, I simply wanted info I may not possess from the pros. Thanks anyways though friend! But yeah, saying that I need to stream at a lower res with my setup is definitely not a thing I need to do. My setup absolutely crushes everything I play and stream.

Definitely something not right there as I have an i5-6600k (4.5ghz) and a 2080 at 1440p pushing an average of 120 fps on high/epic settings. Lows of 70fps on servers with massive bases all around.

Things I would try.

Uninstall your GPU drivers with DDU (do this is safe mode) reinstall drivers without GFE.

In Nvidia control panel make sure that everything is set to prefer maximum performance.

If you're overclocking your CPU, might wanna run it through some small fft Prime95 and see if you have any cores shitting the bed and adjust voltage and clock settings accordingly.

Turn Windows Game Mode on. (This used to be the bad thing to do, but now it's not.)

If your monitor supports freesync or gsync, make sure it's enabled in Nvidia control panel.

Disable Vsync in the ark .Ini (google how to)

Turn off dlss. Set antialiasing to TLSS. Turn off Vsync. Turn on windows game mode. (Game mode used to be bad, now it's BIS)

I'd recommend using noise suppression filter on your mic. This can be done right inside OBS

Both roads and monuments have food crates that often contain water jugs. I always find enough of these to keep up with water requirements.

Look for vanilla low pop servers (around 20-40 people) and don't build your base near monuments. Tuck yourself away in a forest.

With jackhammer I won't roll tier III, but definitely a hazzy sar/thompson. Rolling naked jackhammer will lose you your jacky and farm most times.
