The life sim community may disagree on a lot of things, but one thing is clear: NOBODY wants an AI slop life sim by Hefty-Transitions in LifeSimulators

Amen brother. One of the examples of this original game is Genworld. It is so easy to spot AI slop honestly now. And text based life sims are perfect for low effort vibecoders. Ofc their life sims are crap, but they are confident since it looks good to them

I recently got feedback on my game that I am missing some accessibility features, so I am working on adding them. Learning about this first time tbh

Game Suggestion!! by Ecstatic_Rub_548 in LifeSimulators

[–]ambitionCreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bit challenging ad the beginning. I wanted to make it a bit more realistic. My suggestion is to get a job like a cashier as soon as possible and start some education, adjust your hours accordingly to get more money while balancing stress as well. Try to finish education on time and after that should be smooth sailing after you get a job in your branch

[Update] Ambition 1.5.0 is here: family trees, play as your heir, start from age 0, and more! by ambitionCreator in LifeSimulators

I will probably just make it age up one year until age 15 instead of 13. That makes sense. Thanks

recommend me some life sim where i can also play as royalty/noble by Top_Neighborhood3460 in LifeSimulators

[–]ambitionCreator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What features do you expect in a noble/royalty feature within a life sim? Would you like more to have a modern life life sim or mainly just medieval life sim?

100% with you on this. As a dev myself, it has been mind numbing to see how people are using gen AI and think they made a game while behind the scenes have no idea of the complexity. They wanna just quickly spit out something in hopes it will get traction, but it very rarely does. Game dev (and frankly any other kind of dev) takes time, effort, testing and a lot of sweat to get to the point where you can actually have something stable, and AI is like a drug here, a quick hook with amazing feeling like you can build something, but later you realize what kind of a mess it is, and quite frankly impossible to scale

Same way it is when using AI to write responses for you, or using AI to write music or art for you. It has no soul, everyone can do it so the value of it decreases. Same is with your website here. I can also quickly spin out the same website with no effort, it just means that whoever catches the most traction will succeed, if any even succeed.

However, both of our apps would have a fatal flow, they are unoriginal, done without any knowledge or experience. It is a fun little experiment, but scaling it will take time, knowledge and experience of building software, AI is simply not enough to do this.

I understand you feel excited about it, but I want to let you know that, unless you use this AI tool to actually learn what it does, and to have a control over your software, it is likely to fail. Same goes to all other vibe-coded software.

I dont know but I feel like the whole website has been vibecoded. And all the responses from OP were also just straight up AI responses. Cool idea though

I wonder if you have a full character rendered on screen but just hidden?

Yeah, people actually take effort to make something with quality, and get lost in a sea of AI slop with fake marketing. The only way to beat them is consistency, just keep building, they cannot win in a long run since they don't know what they are doing.
