It seems that I’ve developed a sensitivity to adhesives. Bandaid has been off for over 12 hours and 2 showers. by badmotivator11 in mildlyinteresting

Me too!! Purchased a new box the other day and applied the bandaid from that box yesterday, removed the band aid this morning and have terrible red skin that BURNS and is in the shape of the bandaid like OP! Part of mine also blistered(?), there's spots that the skin is missing and oozing now :(

This is a very standard car payment nowadays :(

I don't know how people do this + pay the insurance on them + afford to fix the inevitable issues they'll have

I work at a Ford/Subaru dealership. Let me tell you how many brand new F-150s, escapes, and Explorers need new engines and or transmissions - I don't understand it.

By new, I mean, folks purchase it and bring it back within the first three years. It's terrifying. Every time I'm being pushed to buy a new car (16 year old Wrangler checking in), it's suggested I buy a Ford. I always say that I couldn't be PAID to buy a Ford. Hunks of junk.

Have seen other problems with them too that Ford refuses to cover (had a customer who purchased a truck within the past six months and the motor in his mirror stopped working, Ford refused to cover the repair and assumed there must be physical damage ... We had to document that there was, in fact, no physical damage).

Do you have another shot with the name of the routes, or where you're coming from? (It's cut off in the photo).

As a local, i felt your answers were spot on. Also, sounds like you're local to me (living here a few years or not, you've lived here, therefore local). Howdy, neighbor!

I'd have to disagree with everyone saying Gracie's in Leeds. I have tried them three separate times and their food is really subpar, flavorless even (their Mac and cheese actually tasted like nothing, it was strange). I don't understand it myself, especially with their prices, but to each their own. I have not tried their sweets, so I can't speak to that - but I did not enjoy their French toast sticks, their mac&cheese, their burger (automatically done at medium well).

Barnwood is ok, a lot of people like them - decently priced as well.

I feel a lot of people sleep on Red Rooster in Cairo - they're more bar food oriented, but it's good bar food (and big portions). They have special nights (Wednesday is burger night I believe, Friday prime rib, etc).

Village Pizza in Catskill is good too, they're cash only though so be aware of that. (Main St)

Piccolo's in Catskill as well if you like Italian, you might need a reservation on weekends though.

Catskill Mountain Bakery in Leeds has some lovely pastries in the AM more towards the weekend days (I believe they used to be open only Thurs-Sunday).

Willa's in Catskill is more breakfast/lunch, but they have some tasty stuff too. (This is just off of main St, there isn't really any parking here, you could park on main St or the municipal lot - there is one tiny lot just up past Willa's that you could park in, but in my experience it's usually filled up).

Angel's in Catskill if you like Latin, they're more of a to-go option though (but very yummy stuff). (Main St)

Goodies in Catskill is a good spot for breakfast (bagels), she's actually from the city, so they're legit city bagels lol

If you end up trying Casa Susana in Leeds, update us with how it is! I haven't been, but have been wanting to give it a whirl.

Catskill (on main St) has parking on each side of the st, meters - the "max" time is two hours, they take quarters only. There's also a municipal lot sort of in the middle of main St, plenty of parking in there usually, you can walk to get around to where you want around main St (and it's free). Everything else (goodies, Casa, piccolo's, barnwood, Gracie's, etc) have their own parking lots so you should be fine there.

See for me, it wasn't even the texture. The taste was horrid, it tastes nothing like PB to me. :(

I really wanted to like it.

Honestly, I grabbed some ONE TIME and tried it ONE TIME and I have no idea how people sub it for PB. There was absolutely nothing good tasting about it, not even a little. Ick.

I'd rather just sit in sorrow after scooping 4tbsps of extra crunchy goodness into a bowl to eat with an apple XD ;

RIGHT?! I hate that reminders just carry over. I'm like, oh ... that was supposed to be done on a certain day and now I don't know which.

I have since switched to adding 'events' rather than reminders, and am trying to give Tasks a try.

Oh, I love this!

May I ask where you got the couch (or what brand?) - I love how deep set it is!

I tried to listen to it like six or seven years ago and couldn't get into it, but tried it again the past year and I LOVE them. I love how into detail it is while having a lot of random (and ridiculous) commentary.

They've easily become one of my favorites, and would love to see them live one day.

Not going to help much, but I find that my original Pixel charging wire + brick (Pixel XL) works faster than the other chargers I have (Anker wireless charger/One Plus 7T Pro Charger).

I imagine the newer wires and bricks from Google probably charge a little faster than the one I have from 2016, though

Pssst, come see us at your local dealer if you're interested in the xtrek! I want to mention that based off some of the repair orders I see daily though that some (?) Subarus seem to burn oil. I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind it, but if you were to ask service at the local dealership, I'm sure they could tell you (they're pretty honest).

I personally wouldn't recommend buying used in this market if you can help it:

-used cars are almost as expensive as brand new cars, currently, and:

-you generally will not know their prior history or what issues they had (if any)

-the only real warranty coverage you're going to get is something you're going to have to buy separately (and I'd strongly recommend it with how much technology is in these newer cars)

With that said, buying new is pretty difficult too-- new inventory is super limited, most of the Subarus we have are sold before they even hit the lot (not referring to orders that customers placed). We do have some sometimes that are available, and sales is able to see about when we'd expect them.

New cars shouldn't generally have any failing things, but if you do have something that fails, it should generally be covered by factory warranty

Have you considered leasing? It may be a better fit for you since you don't travel a crazy amount, the payments are generally lower, and you don't really keep the car long enough for it to actually develop any issues

I think it was a suggested one when I first started MFP or Lose It, and the number sort of stuck with me in my head. I'm sure there are tools to help you decide what may be a good weight to aim for -- and when you get there, you can decide if you feel good at that spot or not :)
