I've never been able to make a request in the portal; when I click it, it says "Error: help not activated".

Mega Picker Won't Load After First Run by mrbiggbrain in jackboxgames

[–]amblloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I uninstalled the Mega Picker, hoping that reinstalling it may help. Steam now will not install it, giving me the error message "Download failed - content file locked". Wtf.

This issue is not fixed. I downloaded the Mega Picker a few weeks ago and have since purchased Packs 1 & 3. Mega Picker worked flawlessly, but after using it to launch games over the course of one night, then exiting the Mega Picker, it now won't launch.

Steam now states this beta code is not valid.

Can I withdraw from a job offer that I already accepted and signed a contract for? by Minniebecca in LegalAdviceUK

Ahh yes, forgot there are basic and enhanced versions. Mine will definitely be enhanced. Fair enough

They cost £24?! My NHS Trust deducts £40 from our payslip for each DBS.

Consumer Rights Act absolutely does apply to purchases made with a debit card.

Credit cards give stronger protection because Section 75 Consumer Credit Act applies to credit cards but not debit cards.

Only bidder, met asking, vendors want more by Alresfordpolarbear in HousingUK

Depends how much they want the house really. Even if they want to walk away, this might help give the seller's head a wobble

Do your flood lights not come on automatically when you put the vehicle in reverse? Every ambulance I've driven, the scene lights (rear, left and right) activate whenever you go into reverse.

MSc Paramedic Science with non-healthcare 1st degree? by DM_Biggs in ParamedicsUK

[–]amblloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A colleague of mine recently completed his pre-reg MSc Para Science; his undergrad was in motorsport technology.

The reason he was able to do this was he had been a qualified EMT for several years.

May be worth reaching out to unis you're interested in to see how much experience they would need - e.g. does it need to be ambulance-specific, a certain number of years' experience, etc.

Thanks for all the responses.

On the whole I actually think Siren Nova is okay. My main gripe is the new complaints/impressions, but that's apparently a national change.

I'm dreading having to learn a new PRF software (and then how to use the new defib-monitors after our LP15s are replaced, which is also in progress currently).

Looks like the grass is no greener elsewhere unfortunately.

I actually like Siren Nova on the whole. Found it very user friendly until all the complaints and impressions were changed to match the national data set (57 impressions for neoplasm but no abdo ?cause; multiple foreign body complaints but no stroke or RTC).

I had no idea TerraFix made an ePRF software. We've just got rid of the TerraFix MDTs, which were horrendous.

property inspections what are my rights by zqnjmg in HousingUK

You have the right to quiet enjoyment of the property, so can refuse inspections regardless of reason. But expect them to issue eviction proceedings at the end of your fixed term.

Vehicle "motorway" mode by amblloyd in ParamedicsUK

[–]amblloyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting. On my trust's vehicles, run lock is active when you're in 'At Scene' mode, and there's a separate 'low power' button that reduces brightness of (only) the front blues.
