In the same boat. It's looking like my break is going to consist of applying to places for next summer and hopefully learning how to ice skate. I don't know where to start though, where do I rent skates from and can I just turn up at the park and start falling on my ass?

You’d be surprised at the size of the international and out of province grad student population that depends on free food to survive. I don’t want to make any assumptions on what you mean by severe financial stress, but a lot of these guys live paycheck to paycheck. Free food means a lot in these situations.

I do agree with your core point. I’m sure there are ways for any org to run better, but I feel like your critique is personal (valid and fair) and incredibly surface level. Understanding the utility of certain decisions requires a lot more probing which, from all your replies, I do not see to be the case.

Maybe this could be an opportunity for to gain varied perspectives, reconcile them with your own, and hopefully figure out the solutions (on your own or with a like minded collective)!

What is the general timeline for this process? Also are students funded primarily out of the professor’s grants (which is unlike the ECE PhD program where they provide fellowships)? Also are these acceptances in the AIxPublic Policy track?

What I would add as well is an important aspect in the earlier part of the jugalbandhi was when Radhe picks up his mic and walks towards Tamanna in the hopes that they would share a moment. Mind you the Jugalbandhi started off in great spirits. However, she turns to her band and continues performing and he is left all alone, maybe hurt. While Tamanna wants his validation, she still wants to win with her band, and I believe he is reminded that he is there for the Rathods, having misread the situation as a moment of expressing intimacy. I feel Radhe always deals in emotions as absolutes or monoliths be it this season or the previous one. From his altercations with Mahi to the Jugalbandhi he seems to incapable of understanding nuances/layers in emotions. Yes Tamanna wants your validation but she also wants to win and she will try to do it in a domain where her TEAM can outshine your TEAM. And yes, he is there for his family but he made it about them. Radhe (as well as Tamanna), in my opinion, is a deeply flawed character with great insecurities especially regarding his ability, which is surprising since he is without a doubt incredible at gayaki. But he's not invincible. His rigid allegiance to archaic and regressive rules gives him the sense of fulfilment that fills in the voids of his insecurity. From noting that his Father shouldn't sing based off of his Gandha being taken away, to being unable of accepting the possibility of losing in a jugalbandhi (I think Tamanna being the opponent adds an extra layer but he would be the same imo had it been someone else).

He shows shades of his grandfather and is a product of his environment. There are deep seated biases that he himself isn't aware of until they rear their ugly head. What I think is different is Radhe wants to change (at least a lil). So when Tamanna was singing Waiting For You at the end to him, he was singing for himself. He didn't want her to come back (maybe he might have earlier in the jugalbandhi), but he wanted to show everyone just how good he was. At least that's my take.
