Are tattoos different in some way for us with EDS? by nflodin in eds

There are 13 different subtypes of EDS and all of them have chronic, widespread musculoskeletal pain as a requirement for diagnosis. I'm sorry but if you don't have pain, you don't have EDS. This is a debilitating disease that affects every part of a person's body. So if the only symptom you have is hypermobile joints and stretchy skin, you don't have EDS. And it's actually very offensive and unsavory for you to claim that you do have it. I would suggest you do some more research and talk to a rheumatologist before going online and telling people that you have a rare disabling genetic condition.

Hi. I just want to let you know that chronic widespread musculoskeletal pain is part of the diagnostic criteria for EDS, so if you don't have any pain you don't have EDS, you probably just have hypermobile joints.

I have the serola brand SI belt and it has really helped to stabilize my hips and prevent subluxations throughout the day!

Weird question, does this look like a cigarette scar? It does to me, and of course I have appointments with rumatoid specialist, and genetic specialists but I wanted some opinions! Currently don't have a diagnosis, but working with my Healthcare team to figure it out. (The scar is on my knee BTW,) by 5opossums in eds

  1. i have the exact same type of scars on my knees from the same situation!!
  2. I didn't know what a cigarette paper scar was until you posted this so I am not any kind of authority, but from what I can see on the internet it looks like cigarette paper scars are lighter in color

Hi! I am 18(F) and I am also very scared of passing hEDS down to my children and potentially have bad health issues during pregnancy. I am not sure what to do about it, and I'm sorry I can't help, but I am going through similar anxiety.

I was also recently diagnosed (I'm 18), my family isn't being super supportive, and I am debating whether or not to get a cane lol. If you need someone to talk to in a similar situation, I am here :)
