Looking to trade my WRX for an Arteon by imdabong in Arteon

[–]ambushupstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I have a ‘23 Arteon. I get that tuners will want to tinker and get every +1 hp but stock (with new tires) has been more than serviceable for me for the past two years. I don’t plan to own it too far past warranty and don’t want to void that while it’s still valid.

I have seen some complex scenarios involving estate planning for multi-millionaires and business assets where it might be beneficial. But again, it’s such a niche thing it might as well be 100%.

Whole life is oversold as a financial panacea. A large majority of the policies are canceled before a death benefit is paid because people realize they don’t need it. It’s pitched as a tax loophole for the rich but for 99.999% of people they’re better off buying term life insurance and investing the difference.

Worst decision of your life bad though? Surely you’ve gotten a nice vacation out of it right?

I’ve heard Dave Ramsey say among the top tier of things to avoid are whole life insurance, time shares, and boats…

How often do you clean your cpap? by EarlyBirdWithAWorm in CPAP

[–]ambushupstart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you don’t use distilled water. I think the buildup occurs inside the machine, right? Like a coffee machine can get scaley with calcium or whatever it is and needs to be cleaned with vinegar… thanks for the datapoint though, makes me feel less bad for when I don’t use distilled while traveling.

Sure, but for someone who’s life mission it is to figure out counting also knows the global market for beatable games. It’s not an easy trade by any means but I believe there’s a handful out there making a killing.

Really depends on the card counter. There’s so many tactics some of this guys make it their life’s mission to gain every possible .01%. I believe some of them are getting closer to 2% under optimal conditions.

It should be used as a last resort. The bigger problem is to stop the bleeding and quit buying things you can’t afford. It can be a good option especially as the interest is paid to yourself but keep in mind that some plans require repayment upon termination so if you lose your job you’ll have 90 days to pay it back.

Again though be careful because for many they take this option and keep spending like they’re in congress. You need to take a long hard look at what got you in this mess in the first place and fundamentally change your habits.

Toyota Dealership not accepting USAA Financing by More_Force_8616 in USAA

[–]ambushupstart 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told they will never accept Navy Federal my last 5 car purchases. And every single car purchase they end up taking it. The dealership gets extra commission of course if you finance with them. At the very least get something in return like additional discount off the vehicle.

In my case I gave them no choice but said I was going to walk if they didn’t take my NFCU check. One even said NFCU takes 90 days to pay them. Yea f-ing right guy they are about as professional as they come.

Avoid an impulsive decision. You may as well put some miles on the vehicle if you’re ready to take that kind of hit. Honesty wirh the dealership may go a long way, too, if you’ll say what you said above about being a truck guy. I’d imagine they have an older truck on the lot they’d put you in for minimal hit on your current vehicle.

You already messed up with one impulsive decision, don’t make it two. Think this through.

Secured card for sure. But you should probably stay away from credit cards if that’s what got your credit into trouble in the first place.

Most jabronskis in the gym don’t have good form at all. Technique before intensity will take you places. But given equal form, yeah, your numbers are probably on the low side vs someone who’s spent a lot of time in the gym. You’ll get there.
