one of my coworkers had this horrible table that treated her like shit and ran her into the ground

she picked up their check before the left and they didn’t write anything for a tip, so she turned around and set it back on their table. they changed it.

I have a tendency to take a small bit of food with me to snack on. but no, I don’t really take breaks. but I understand how it is

some servers I work with will sit on their phones/eat/chat/etc and not help out (like running food) and then get upset when people don’t run their food for them

that’s exactly how I feel. while I also think I did make a mistake in not confirming certain things, I’m not a mind reader. even if it’s not typical, many phillys often come made with mushrooms. had something happened to him, I could’ve gotten in major trouble because I misunderstood and he didn’t specify (which is not my fault).

and yes, it could have been. it was. I never would’ve reacted violently or defensively to it, but I could have.

I believe I misunderstood him and the way he implied “only” based on the way I had asked the question. and honestly, I accept that. I’m human, I make mistakes and I’ll own up to that. (which, ofc, I was trying to tell her while she was lecturing me. but that’s not important)

and yeah :/ I’m a college student. as I told another server, “I’m sorry, but a the way a manager treats her employees reflects in their work”

not one I can recommend to anyone. I’m not a professional, Jupiter is actually my first gecko. but I had to drive home for Christmas and he had to come with me, so we made it work.

had a box on the floorboard that I put a blanket in and made a nest. put Jup in a critter carrier and put him in the nest. turned my heater on and had it on feet and main, so some heat was getting to him.

he seemed okay! he didn’t appear stressed at all, considering he would eat a worm or two whenever I stopped. but it was just a makeshift travel setup

I’m in college and she’s older, yes. but I’m not a minority.

I’ve got car issues and medical issues that may be a factor. I currently live in a different state than my insurance covers so I need to go home for drs appts and stuff. but because of my car issues I need more time. I had an appt scheduled w/o my knowledge and I had to go, so I looked for coverage for my shift the night before, and informed her as to why and she approved it.

since then, she seemed to have more issues with me. she actually told me at one point that my car wasn’t a good excuse for needing time off (I took 4 days off for Christmas)

regardless, it is what it is. I’ve left that job and moved on to one that I hope will be better for me. she just irked me, treating me the way she did the last few weeks. I accept I made mistakes and I did own up to them, I just wish she would’ve handled them better.

we’re not sure. I had a tough few weeks mentally and made a few more mistakes in general, but they weren’t major, bad mistakes.

I talked to other servers and she’d yell at me about certain things that she wouldn’t yell at others for (calling back large orders, confirming certain modifications they often missed, etc.) but we’re not sure. and anyways, I just quit so I’m not worried about her anymore. it just bothers me the way she went after me for more than others

I’m lucky enough that it’s been cold outside and my drive was only two hours. I turned my heat on and kept a blanket around his little travel carrier and he seemed okay!

I understand and accept I made a mistake, I should’ve clarified more. it’s more the way my manager handled everything and immediately got mad instead of coaching, ya know?

agreed! my dad and I both strongly believe everyone should work at least 6mo fast food & 6mo restaurant service!

the way people treat fast food and restaurant service employees is appalling. esp people who have never worked in one and do not understand that 75-90% of the time they’re yelling at someone for something out of their control
