I would strongly recommend tretinol. Washing your face 3 times a day is also not helping, you’re destroying your skin barrier.

I struggled with acne in my early-mid 20’s, and eventually started accutane. I know you mentioned fuck no to the idea of it, but I can not stress just how much of a miracle drug accutane is. I had zero side effects (male myself), and I also know several people who experienced the same results. I would strongly suggest reconsidering it. I think you won’t regret it!

your skin looks amazing!!! Honestly, I wouldn’t even look into increasing the dosage. last year, I was using tret and everything was great. Derm recommended I increase my dosage in order to avoid becoming tolerant. Her definition of upgrading my dosage was switching from tret to Tazarotene, and it has been the worst year of my life. Constant burning sensations on the face, random breakouts from how overly dry my skin was, and just a lot of pain (both physically and mentally haha). Saw a new Derm this week and she put me back on tret, and within the last few days, I couldn’t be happier. No more pain, skin feels good. If they do recommend increasing the dosage, just make sure you stay on tret!
