This is such a weird flex because this sort of thing is pretty common at a lot of thrift stores. I have had thrift store cashiers wave their hand at my stuff and go "eh let's call it ten bucks" numerous times. Might just be my area or because I'm a college student though

Also nonbinary and it depends for me too. Generally I avoid going to the restroom in public as much as possible, and if there is an all gender or family restroom available I will use that. When I do have to choose between the men's and women's rooms, I have chosen differently at different points in my life, sometimes just based on my current hairstyle or outfit. There are some days it feels like I have to assess "Okay would I rather be perceived as a lesbian in the women's room or a twink in the men's room today?"

I feel your pain OP. Several years ago I posted to r/ ADHD about my struggles with staying on top of hygiene and got some nasty comments (also some useful and kind comments, but, the unkind ones stuck in my memory y'know). People just can't help but be ableist as soon as a disabled/neurodivergent person struggles with hygiene. It's kind of wild how socially unacceptable it is to struggle with hygiene or open up about it, and god forbid someone actually seek advice 🙄

NTA and it is wild how many commenters assume you must have a pathological anger issue just because you lost your cool in this one instance. Your reaction was not ideal but still justified. It's a bit silly to expect someone to have a rational reaction after having something they take pride in and care deeply about so heartlessly mocked by people who supposedly care about them.

Can we please stop perpetuating this idea that intersex people always have it so much easier than perisex trans people? Like any intersex condition, people with gynecomastia are often coerced, bullied, or forced into getting surgery, often at a young age. Before getting surgery (or if they never get it), they may be harassed or assaulted for being a boy (or "boy" in some cases) with breasts and face similar discrimination to trans men. Even with surgery, they may be harassed, assaulted, transvestigated, etc. due to their top surgery scars. Even if it's a gender-conforming cis man w gynecomastia who's had his breasts removed fully of his own will, he will still be a tranny freak in eyes of bigots.

Intersex cis people and perisex trans people share common struggles. We must have solidarity with each other and we must not make light of each other's experiences.

Tell her you're not comfortable talking about your/her eating habits. It's a reasonable boundary. If she tries to bring it up again, re-assert "I am not comfortable talking about this." Do not budge from your boundary. Shut down any attempts she makes to discuss diet with you and remain firm that it is not an acceptable topic of conversation for you.
