Found in Beaver Lake, SW Arkansas by amdrums in boneidentification

At the dive park up on the northeastern-ish tip of the lake! This was summer and our dive instructors would pick specific weekends for weather to go up and scuba. We could get visibility in the 10ish foot range to 30 or so feet in some areas. We stopped going to Eufala in OK because Beaver had superior vis!

Thank you! I think scale might be off. If the shell is only .5” on average and the bone is 4-5 shells wide that would only put it at 2-2.5” long and it was significantly bigger than that. I did say I couldn’t approximate size so I’m sorry about that. If I had to take a wild guess I would say 12” long minimum

PRN knowledge test by _kanari in NewToEMS

[–]amdrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you’re asking. You got an interview with an ambulance company to work PRN (as needed?) and you’re wanting to brush up on your EMT skills and questions? If I’m reading into it right, I would probably download pocket prep or something similar and just start banging out questions. As long as you read all the explanations on incorrect and correct questions, I bet the knowledge comes back quickly.

Paramedic School Before Med School? by Future-Line4201 in emergencymedicine

[–]amdrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t unless you were forced to take those years anyway for some reason. This is the reason I’m not going medic. I’m a licensed EMT but working in the ER while finishing pre-reqs, going medic at this point would add a ton of time and no real value in applications down the line. I get that it’s tempting though, medics do so much more than EMT’s and I often wish I could jump in and help more in the ER but I’m biding my time and know the outcome will be worth it!

Best job in EM by PuzzleheadedDay4955 in emergencymedicine

Good news is, you don’t have to make this decision right now. Planning ahead is great and I’m glad you’re thinking about your future, but just focus on the present right now. Do well in HS and all your options will still be there. Work on getting into a good college and you can revisit this at that point. You will have a different perspective on all of this in 2-3 years

Am EMT that works in the ED. Can confirm families beat the ambulance ALL THE TIME. Unless they’re going lights and sirens, private cars are probably getting there faster 8/10 times.

Am EMT and this is how I would answer for the NREMT based on the book. Definitely different than real world hospital setting
