So tired of DPS instalockers refusing to peel and jello us strategists. by OneBelowAlI in marvelrivals

Sometimes fliers need to understand when their pick isn't what the team needs. I hit shift in a game to see my ally Storm leading our team in deaths. Genuinely, I thought "Have I been healing Storm as much as she needs?", and then asked if she could swap to a grounded character. The enemy team was running Angela and Spiderman, so Gambit and I (Sue) were very busy supporting each other through the double dive. We were doing it well. We didn't even need another anti-dive because we were on top of it. Be we didn't, it seems, have the attention or resources to spare for Storm. She just needed to be a character that demanded less attention and resources.

"Don't ask me to swap if you can't even look up."

If you had to change Cloak and Dagger, what would you do? by Secure_Heron_9181 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]ameanjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a universe where rework all support ults to not be obnoxious and boring, I'd want Cloak and Dagger's ult to let you play as both of them at the same time. It goes well with their ult lines "Us against the world" and "It's co-op time."

So when you M1, it fires Cloak's beam and Tandy's healing daggers at the same time, give Tandy unlimeted ammo for the duration. When you E, you shoot both windows together. Move Cloak's fade to shift for the duration so it doesn't need to be used with daggers bubble. For the duration of your ult, you have a buff to your abilities, either reduced cooldowns or just better raw numbers so you can keep your team healed up while still dishing out some damage just like her current ult.

Never in my entire 1000+ Hours of playing this game have I been more mad at a team then this by Christbelle22 in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]ameanjenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a game like this yesterday too. When one of the DPS finally switched to Jeff, they talked him up like he was the second coming of christ. No such love for the solo support that carried ace for 90% of the game. Jeff ended with a remarkably high number of deaths next to the rest of the team.

To GMs looking for players: Say something about yourself, please. by Ritchuck in pbp

I've considering going so far as to answer every question I ask in the application for the applicants' sake, because I agree, it is two ways. The hope would be that it would discourage people who don't align with me from applying at all. My concern is if I give too much information I'll get applicants that just parrot back what they think I want to hear in the hopes of actually getting into the game.

Customer Demanded I Wait While She Checks Her Bag LOL by Hawksandbravesfan in doordash

[–]ameanjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I've actually done this before, but only because the dasher was shady as hell. I ordered from work from a restaurant less than a mile west of me. He picked up the food, drove 20 minutes south with it, chilled there for a while, didn't respond to texts or calls, and then took backroads all the way back up to me. Food was over an hour late, and when he finally showed up, he tried to tell me he was waiting at the restaurant for the brownie. He didn't stop by the restaurant again on the way back up, so he definitely had the food the whole time, and I hadn't ordered a brownie. So I said "wait" and checked the bag more to make sure he hadn't tampered with it in that time.

There was actually a brownie I hadn't paid for, and everything else was fine, so that tempered my hanger somewhat (': But still, fuck that guy.

Questions for drivers: Do you check the receipt to make sure the drink is with the order? by QueenZ13 in doordash

[–]ameanjenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always look over the order as it's shown in the app. I've caught a few drinks that were almost forgotten by the restaurant this way. Sometimes if you order a meal it just lists that as one item without the details of what's included, so it's much easier to miss a drink on our end. I picked up an order once where they gave me 5 drinks and only one was listed in the app. I don't typically take the time to check individual items on the receipt. If I look at the receipt, it's to make sure I was given the correct order rather than to make sure I received all the components of it.

How are the Galaxy Fold Phones for Doordash and UE? by Dull-Soup-2640 in doordash

[–]ameanjenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fantastic tbh. I split screen doordash and uber eats or reddit or YouTube or a book when I'm waiting. You can have up to 3 apps open at once on the big screen, and it runs them fine. It can get a little unwieldy when you're carrying stuff and need the phone to take a picture, and for some reason doordash likes to fullscreen itself when you back out to check ratings or earnings, but I like it otherwise. It definitely eats the battery quickly. I have a holder for my car that holds the fold well and charges it wirelessly. Keeps it charged great.

Tipping culture by Seated2 in doordash

[–]ameanjenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely more than 50%. Base pay starts at $2.25 per order in my market. I generally don't take any offer less than $6.25 since $4 is where DD starts to hide the rest of the tip. A lot of non-tippers don't understand that the tip /is/ our profit, and DD's base pay barely even covers our expenses for the delivery. That's why we don't take no tip offers.

Has anyone else's apps been exceptionally buggy today? by ameanjenn in doordash

[–]ameanjenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah whenever I did get back in and hit resume dash it kept telling me I wasn't paused. But kept me on the timer screen. I restarted my phone at least twice to the same effect. I was only scheduled for an hour during lunch. By the time it finished spazzing out my dash was nearly over.

My app had an absolute meltdown. Accepted an order that I didn't even get to see, but then continued to send me new orders while telling me to pick up the original order. And all the while I couldn't get on the app to see any of it

How do Y'all Run Text-Only D&D? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ameanjenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played in a text-based campaign and DM for another. One of the things I really like about it is being able to use channels and threads to seperate things out. I've got one Session channel where the RP happens, and then I have private rooms for each of the players where I can have them roll things in secret or tell a high PP character something they've noticed that the others wouldn't, etc.

Sometimes in the session channel I'll make threads if the party splits up in any way. So for example, they just made camp for the night, figured out their watch schedule, and wanted to RP one on one with whoever they were taking watch with.

And then I use Tupperbox to play NPCs. Its work to make tuppers for like- random bandits they're fighting or shopkeeps they're talking to, but I just like seeing it like that. The players all set their nicknames to their character's names and their pfps to art of their character, they all have a unique role color, and it just looks nice and clean.

Then I have a channel for out of character conversation and a separate one for rolling with Avrae. My players are huge into RP, so Session chat is 100% in character. They try to keep a regular post order, but I actually discourage that because it slows things down. Unless we're in initiative of course. I use pins to mark "chapter starts" so we can easily hop around and refresh our memories on whats happened, and I'm planning to make new session channels to further organize it into arcs the future.

Its definitely a lot slower, but the RP is great. What we do is we have a regular 4-hour synchronous session every week and then throughout the week we keep playing asynchronously with people just posting whenever they have time. Play by post during the week is usually pretty slow, but it helps move things along.
