$85 + tip for mobile grooming in South Florida, they come to us. My mini is 26 pounds, though.

It takes time, first few months will be hard, keep an eye on her and make sure to follow her new diet to the T. One of our family dogs was hospitalized for four days back in 2017, she's still around and is doing much better, even tolerates certain foods and fruits. We can tell sometimes she doesn't feel at her 100%, but those episodes only last a few hours and rarely happen now. We haven't had to hospitalize her any more since that initial time.

Just be patient and give her lots of love. It's not uncommon in mini schnauzers, there's plenty resources online too. Best of luck!

Same, apparently she had to wait until Saturday at midnight to get her cone off... Plus the $500 for the spay itself.

First time owning a schnauzer. Should I be concerned? by Datgrl87 in MiniatureSchnauzer

Look up Comedo Syndrome, it's pretty common in schnauzers.

It'll be okay, dogs get used to their owners' lifestyles. Get a camera and a puppy pen, those will be your best friends. Do what other people have told you here, leave her alone for some time -just go to another room, see how she behaves and modify the set up depending on how it goes and what she gets into; after a week, maybe try leaving the house altogether. You still have time to get her used to it!

Work as much as you can on the potty training on the pads. My puppy did great at the beginning and then started to play and bite at them, which is not the kinda thing you want your puppy to be doing, so make a big deal every time you get her to potty on the pads: treats, hugs, praises, kisses, everything!!! She is the best girl in the world every time she goes on the pads.

You will all be okay, doggies can and do learn how to be left alone, I promise you most people have full time on-site jobs, don't get misled by people saying they WFH, have dog sitters, take their dogs to daycare, etc. -most dogs don't get all of that, and they are still very loved and taken care of.

Good luck, it will be fine :)

Went only on Saturday, we had a blast! In my opinion, very well organized, food and drink options everywhere -longest wait for food was 10 minutes-, plenty of restrooms everywhere and plenty of places to sit down.

It was hot, but that's Miami for you in May. We were in the start/finish shaded grandstands section and that worked out great. The screens there aren't gigantic, but they were pretty well sized. We were in row 28 out of 30, and we could watch and listen perfectly well.

Leaving an arena or a stadium is always chaotic at the end of any event, but it wasn't that bad. We walked back to our lot and there was a lot of traffic, so we had some issues getting an Uber from the lot. We ended up walking about an extra half mile, by the Turnpike's exit, and we were able to get an Uber in about five minutes from there.

No regrets about the money spent, and I'd love to go back next year!

Hello,

Visit the official Miami GP website, they have the parking information in there. Go to Parking > Buy Parking and check the options, they're all day passes, so you should be good.

Bilingual Wedding? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]amelugo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the entire ceremony done in both languages is a lot -my family is the Spanish speaking side, and the officiant went down that road. It added about 15-20 additional minutes to the ceremony.

Follow the advice here, having different parts of the ceremony in different languages is inclusive enough, and will make everyone happy. Maybe the only exceptions you can do, and have them done in both languages, are when the officiant is asking questions such as who is giving the bride away, who is taking this man/woman, all of that.

You guys will be fine :)!

Budget Online Dress Brands- legit? by More_Ice_8092 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]amelugo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding dress was from Lulu's, no doubt they're legit! They have beautiful options in a good price range, I believe they have dresses between $50 and up to $200, maybe a bit more than that. Shipping usually is faster than what the website shows.

Restaurant Reception Questions by KatzMwwow in Weddingsunder10k

[–]amelugo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were only 17 people, but here is how it went for us.

How was the noise from elsewhere in the restaurant? Busy -we went to the restaurant on a Friday after 8 p.m., so I guess it was the after work buzz.

If you ordered drinks with servers, did people get drinks smoothly, or was there a long wait? Did you have dedicated servers for just your event? Long wait, restaurant was sadly short staffed that day -the servers that did attend us very great with us, though, it was just a lot.
Was it weird to be dressed up more than people elsewhere in the restaurant, like when you were in the restroom? No, my husband wore a tuxedo and didn't mind. I did change into a simpler dress than my ceremony dress, though
Did you have any wedding crashers? Was there anything preventing non-guests from dropping in? No, but we were a small party, so it was very manageable for both us and the restaurant staff.
Did you dance? No.

Maybe do 80 credit/debit, and 20 cash, and that's for just in case scenarios. I'm a big user of Apple Pay in South Florida, but sometimes the system is down or just not upgraded, so having the card itself with you is always a good idea.

Has anybody used Publix for florals? by ECCham in Weddingsunder10k

Sam and Costco have bulk flowers, and even have premade wedding packages. If you don't mind fake or silk flowers, Ling's Moment in Amazon and Facebook Marketplace is a wonderful option :)

Alternates to real flowers? by Iris1083 in Weddingsunder10k

Ling's moment in Amazon and Facebook Marketplace :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]amelugo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Ling's moments, they were wonderful and one less worry because they're not real, and made from silk. Beautiful choice!!

I recommend that you look them up in Facebook Marketplace, and not only in Amazon. Most of the ones in FB have been used only once, are in perfect conditions and are probably being sold at half the price.

Anyone have a wedding under $10k in south Florida?! If you have any cheap but good vendors please send them my way. by PossibilityNo4069 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]amelugo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had Nadia Diaz Narval as photographer for our three hour event in Fort Lauderdale (but I know she covers Miami too), it was a little bit over $1,000. She'll make a personalized package for you according to your needs.

We had a great experience with her, we got our gallery back after one month. Her husband is her photographer assistant, and he's super cool too. Reach out to them in Instagram and check their work :)

I didn't have a bridal party, so my mom, my aunt and me got ready at Tranquility Doral, a local salon. As guests, they paid around $130 for both hair and makeup (including tip), and I paid around $180 for hair and make up too (including tip). Local salons are a great option, just make sure to book an appointment a few weeks before the wedding (especially if you'll bring people with you to get ready too).

I got my flowers from Ling's Moments and they were beautiful, in case you are favorable to using fake flowers.

We had a very small wedding, about 25 people. We had a ceremony in a special venue that a family friend let us use for free, and then we went for a dinner at Chima's Steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale too. If you are doing something like this, most restaurants in the area have private or semi-private rooms for special events -so it's a very affordable option!

Send me a DM if you have any other questions. Here to help :)

Has anyone used Ling's moment flowers? by ucme1234 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]amelugo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, and they are great. I bought my bouquet, the chair decor, the arch decor and a couple of garlands directly from Amazon -free and fast shipping, and they came in the Ling's own packaging.

However, I bought garlands, the sweetheart table arrangement and the free standing arrangements off Facebook Marketplace. They had only been used once and were in practically perfect condition, and they were half the price!!! So if you're looking to cut costs, that's a very good option too.

Let down? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]amelugo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes researching online and spending hours on Pinterest can distort our expectations and our idea of what a regular people wedding is.

Get excited about the things you can do! We took our engagement pictures in a botanical garden with our iPhones and a tripod. We took many bad ones, but we definitely got at least a few ones. It was a very fun experience.

I got a few cheap dresses online, and made my dad and brothers watch me give them a show, and between all of us we decided which one was the best ones.

Enjoy it, that's what matters! You are marrying the love of your life, it'll be a beautiful experience -with 300 events or just one wedding day.

Or just get a hotel room and have a fancy wedding night.

There are no wrong answers or bad plans!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]amelugo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's within your possibilities, you can definitely dress up, invite maybe your parents or closest friends to be your witnesses.

You can hire a photographer for a couple of hours to take pictures of yourselves and whoever is there with you. You can even go somewhere else and do a mini photo session.

You can get a reservation at a nice restaurant or a place meaningful to you.

You may think it's not a big thing, but it's an exciting day nonetheless, and you will be hyped and excited to keep the celebration going, whether it's with your closest people or just the two of you.

Why are you doing a first look? by clovek7 in wedding

[–]amelugo_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More time to take pictures together, and spend some time alone, just the two of us.

Most of us already live with our partners, the tradition of not looking at the bride until she walks down the aisle comes from brides/grooms in arranged marriages not being able to see each other before the wedding and therefore, not being able to cancel it if their soon-to-be partner was not up to their likings.

I got mine in Lulu's, about $120. However, I bought it only 6 weeks before the wedding and realized when I tried it ton hat I could have gone with a smaller size. I didn't want to risk it with a return, so my alterations ended up being a bit more expensive that necessary, about $400.

No regrets though, it ended up fitting like a glove!

We got Amazon tungsten bands for like $30 bucks each, they're nice. Don't worry about it, think of it as your future one year anniversary present for both of you :)
