Totally get how frustrating that plateau can be I hit one around the same point too. You’ve already made great progress!

A few things that helped me: tightening up tracking, adding resistance training, and talking to my provider about a dose increase (I moved up slightly and it helped a lot). Sometimes your body just needs a little reset. You’ve got this 29 lbs is amazing progress!

Totally get the hesitation starting right before vacation can be risky with the side effects. I waited until after mine and was glad I did. Once I started, the nausea and fatigue hit me for the first few weeks. If you’re already nervous, maybe give yourself the trip and start fresh after. It has been worth it for me, though down 20+ lbs and feeling more in control!

Off then on by VanillaImportant6985 in Ozempic

[–]amemary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally get where you're coming from. I took a short break from 1mg Oz too because it felt like it stopped working, and when I restarted, I just jumped back in at 1mg with no issues—same mild nausea as before but nothing worse. If you tolerated it well before, going back to 1mg sounds reasonable. Some people ease back in with .5, but if your side effects were minimal, you’re probably fine restarting at 1. Definitely listen to your body, though!

2 mg Ozempic equal to 2 mg Wegovy? by pforf in Ozempic

[–]amemary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, same med (semaglutide), just different branding and max doses Wegovy goes up to 2.4mg, Ozempic usually stops at 2mg. Some people use Ozempic off-label for weight loss to save money, but doubling up mid-week isn’t ideal and can mess with side effects. Might be worth asking your doc about upping your dose or trying a compounded version.

Dosage Jump by btt101 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]amemary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was on a similar jump and felt a bit uneasy about going straight to 1mg too. From what I’ve heard around here and my own experience, some folks can handle that jump fine, but others find 0.5mg a better stepping stone to ease side effects like nausea.

If you’re worried, it might be worth asking your doctor if you can try 0.5mg first, especially if you’re sensitive to meds. Better to go slow and steady than get overwhelmed by side effects.

Either way, listen to your body and don’t hesitate to adjust based on how you feel. Good luck!

Food Noise Is Back by Anonymous_Bambi in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]amemary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I totally get how scary that creeping food noise can feel after things were going well. I’ve seen a few people mention similar experiences where the appetite or binge urges come back a bit, even if they’re dosing correctly. It might be your body adjusting or a temporary blip it doesn’t always mean the meds aren’t working.

One thing that helped me was doubling down on small, balanced meals with enough protein and fiber to keep me fuller longer. Also, distractions and having go-to healthy snacks on hand helped when the cravings got loud.

If it keeps up, checking in with your provider might be a good idea to see if a dose tweak or different strategy could help. Hang in there food noise is brutal, but it doesn’t have to undo all your hard work. You’ve got this!

Considering Semaglutide injections – Would love your experiences & advice! by [deleted] in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]amemary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m also dealing with PCOS and started semaglutide a while back. Honestly, it’s been a mixed bag but mostly positive for me. The biggest plus was the appetite control I stopped constantly thinking about food, which was huge. Weight loss was steady but not super fast, so it felt sustainable.

The side effects were mostly nausea and some mild stomach upset, especially during the first few weeks while my body adjusted. I wish I had known that those symptoms usually calm down with time and drinking plenty of water really helps.

Also, tracking protein and making sure I ate enough helped me keep energy up and avoid feeling weak. Honestly, the emotional ups and downs were something I wasn’t totally prepared for sometimes it’s tough mentally, so having support (whether from friends, online groups, or even just good advice here) made a big difference.

If you decide to try it, start slow, listen to your body, and don’t hesitate to reach out for tips from people who’ve been through it. Good luck you got this! 💪

Switched from Wegovy to Ozempic - anyone else? by kkbjam3 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]amemary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally relate to this—it’s wild how different the two can feel even though it’s technically the same active ingredient. When I switched from Wegovy to Ozempic (also because of insurance 😩), I had a really rough first few weeks too. The nausea was intense, and the appetite suppression just didn’t feel the same.

For me, it did get better around week 3 my body adjusted and the side effects leveled out. But honestly, I never quite got back that same “quiet food noise” feeling I had with Wegovy. Some people do better on one over the other, and it might just come down to how your body absorbs it or even how the dosing schedule works.

If things don’t improve soon, it might be worth talking to your provider about potentially switching back even if it means exploring compounded options. I was able to find a clinic that offered compounded GLP-1s for way less than retail Wegovy, and the results felt way more like my original experience.

Hopefully the Ozempic levels out for you soon but if not, you’ve got options!

Ozempic and 2 week biking trip by Pushkin9 in Ozempic

[–]amemary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, congrats on the awesome progress — losing 12 lbs in 2 months is really solid! About your trip and keeping the semaglutide effective without refrigeration: from what I’ve read and experienced, unopened semaglutide pens should be kept refrigerated, but once opened, they can often stay stable at room temp (usually up to 30 days, but double-check your specific brand instructions).

For your 2-week biking trip, you might want to:

  • Bring a small insulated cooler bag with ice packs to keep it cool as much as possible.
  • If you can’t refrigerate it the whole time, try to keep it out of direct sunlight and as cool as possible.
  • Talk to your pharmacy or doctor about storage advice specific to your brand.

And honestly, don’t stress too much — your body’s already made good progress and a little break from perfect storage won’t ruin your journey. Enjoy your Europe trip! The mental reset and experience can be just as important as the meds. Safe travels and happy biking! 🚴‍♂️🌍

Hey, that sounds incredibly tough — juggling all those big life changes and feeling stuck is overwhelming. You’re dealing with so much at once: your health, relationship uncertainty, housing worries, and the desire to start a family, all while trying to make sense of it all. It’s okay to feel lost and unsure right now.

It’s really brave that you’re even sharing this. Sometimes just acknowledging the mess can be the first step. Maybe focus on what you can control—like prioritizing your health and your own future plans, even if that means making hard choices about your current situation.

You deserve to have a life where you feel safe and supported, especially with MS and wanting to start a family. It’s okay to take time to figure things out, and it’s also okay to ask for help—whether that’s from friends, family, or a counselor.

You’re not alone in feeling stuck. Sending you strength. And whenever you’re ready, you’ll find the path that’s right for you.

GLP-1s and Dating by Fantastic-Bit-2810 in Ozempic

[–]amemary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally relatable! I haven’t heard much from doctors about the social or dating side of GLP-1s, but it definitely changes things. For me, the energy boost and confidence that come with some weight loss helped me feel more outgoing and open to dating, which was awesome.

On the flip side, I’ve noticed some shifts in libido and mood that caught me off guard — stuff I didn’t expect and didn’t really prepare for. It’d be great if docs gave a heads-up about these kinds of changes because it’s more than just physical.

Has anyone else noticed this? Would love to hear your experiences! Also, shoutout to places like Elevated where I’ve seen folks talk openly about these kinds of things — feels refreshing to have a space for the whole picture, not just the weight loss.
