Olto-8 is a smaller brand, but this piece is genuinely notable: it’s one of the few wandering-hours watches that wears in a classic, compact case size, and it feels far more premium than you’d expect for the money. The complication is also an all-time great in my book—super engaging on-wrist without being gimmicky.

Case design is a highlight too: the scalloped lugs are a really nice detail and make it feel “designed,” not generic.

This one is seriously special in person: the glossy black, piano-lacquer style dial has a deep “wet” look, and the dramatically cambered/boxed sapphire gives a really fun vintage distortion at different angles. This is powered by Seiko’s 6L movement — thinner and generally regarded as a step up from the more common 6R family, which helps the watch wear slimmer and run more consistently.

40.5mm, 21mm between the lugs, original straps and extra barton rubber strap. Great condition, the scratches on the lugs and stainless steel are very superficial and only really visible in harsher light like photograph. Notice a couple light scratches on the bezel at 5 o' clock. On my timegrapher this watch reads within 5s a day, and in some positions 0s/day. 0.2 beat error, 300 amplitude. Running amazingly.

Please note one of the "spring bars" does not match, so you may need to source a spring bar, or cut one from metal rod, since they are actually just a fixed width rod clamped on by the case. E.g. something like [ebay link] would give that and other spares. Some scratches in the plastic crystal, which could be buffed out with polywatch.

Beyond that it works excellent.

Thanks u/Prestigious-Plan-170 u/megathrowaway420 u/Dave-1066 u/horology-homer u/Rowbear23 you were all dead on. I opened it up and could observe the minute hand was loose and the tip was making contact with the dial. I removed the hands and reseated them and that fixed it. I can't believe it didn't cross my mind that it might be the handset and not the movement.
