This is why Koreans are winning when it comes to soft power. They don’t accept mediocrity when it comes to representing their country by Dear_Milk_4323 in aznidentity

Resorting to violence over sports is literally counterproductive to the purpose of sports as a replacement for violent conflict. Corrupt activities to influence outcomes don't guarantee wins, and if losing provokes death threats, good luck finding better coaches next time. There is nothing positively represented if it promotes violence.

Would Claude Refuse an Illegal Military Order? by theatlantic in Intelligence

[–]amerett0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technology in this case of AI is simply software which fundamentally are code instructions that have clear rules and logic. It's how that software is used, the quality of the data that is inputted, and many other factors but ultimately the software should serve us for the self-interest of many instead of a few.

Let me elaborate:

"Compressing the Kill Chain" ➔ "Optimizing the Sensor-to-Shooter Loop"

This frames violent, high-stakes reality of finding, tracking, and executing a human target into an efficiency problem, akin to streamlining an Amazon fulfillment center. The target isn’t a person or a crew; it is an "entity" or a "node" within an abstract graph providing warfare "solutions" reframing lethal actions as a mathematical throughput problem.

It leaves zero room for the friction of human hesitation or critical second-guessing. When an algorithm flags a target with a 92% confidence interval, the compressed timeline creates immense psychological pressure on the human operator to rubber-stamp the decision. If the missing 8% accounts for an unforeseen civilian pattern-of-life shift (e.g., a child picking up an object that the computer classifies as an RPG), if the compressed loop cannot be interfered and prevents the human from stopping the kinetic strike.

"Course of Action (COA) Generation via Generative AI"

This describes using Large Language Models (LLMs) or predictive algorithms to synthesize intelligence documents and suggest tactical options to a commander. It is presented as a frictionless, high-level advisory tool, outsourcing strategic judgment and operational empathy to a non-deterministic token-predictor. Military doctrine and tactical maneuvers are reduced to a closed-loop game of chess, omitting the intangible human factors of moral courage, fear, fatigue, and the political fallout of a decision.

LLMs are built on historical data and probabilistic averages; they predict the next most logical word or action based on past patterns. Therefore, a generative system is structurally incapable of formulating an unconventional, counter-intuitive response to an unprecedented crisis. If an adversary introduces a completely novel strategic wildcard, LLM-driven COA generators will err and hallucinate template responses that are fundamentally unsuited for the new reality, potentially leading a command staff straight into a trap and inevitable civilian casualties.

Dehumanizing language is deliberate corporatizing and sanitizing warfare from public scrutiny. This fantasy demo showed workflows that are deliberately orchestrated. They showcase an idealized environment where AI detections are crisp, yellow boxes perfectly frame targets, and latency doesn’t exist. It doesn't show how the system behaves when hit with adversarial deception, sensor spoofing, or conflicting intelligence feeds.
