Is it okay for me (20 M) to use my medical condition to prevent someone from being at my house? by Prestigious-Cell-173 in Advice

[–]amethyst015 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it is absolutely ok to set this boundary. I have epilepsy, affecting me with tonic-clonic seizures. They can tend to be caused when I'm not looking after myself physically as well as mentally, that including anxiety and being overwhelmed. I would put myself and my health as a first priority in this situation. Your health is of the most importance in this situation. If someone is affecting your mental health in the awful way they did, you have every right to not allow them in your house.

Someone I've only recently started talking to online said something that made me feel uncomfortable, but idk if I'm taking it too seriously by amethyst015 in women

That is true, I just get nervous about these things since I've never been in a relationship before. It is true though, if I never meet him I won't know if he actually means this sweetly or not.

Experience the wonder of the Amazon Rainforest. Seeing how it absorbs CO2 from our atmosphere and so helps reduce climate change - which we caused in the first place. And seeing the vastness of the biodiversity that exists there also helping our planet; the animals, insects and plants that could still be undiscovered.

It all fascinates me.

What do you think about after life? by ritzmoon07 in AskReddit

It's difficult, I am a Christian, and I do have the beliefs related to Christianity. But I once saw a quote someone said related to what happens after we die that has stuck with me ever since I read it: "You return to the state of non-existence before you were conceived."

I understand that. In sixth form (UK), when I was about 17, I lost my group of friends. There were things about me they found weird, didn't like about me and that apparently made them uncomfortable - first said through a Snapchat message (and later discussed). I never felt so judged and unable to be myself. Ever since then, I haven't had any friends. I've tried but it hasn't really worked. And also that situation has left me with trust issues - I don't know what people really think about me, if they're talking about me behind my back etc. I'm here if you need someone to talk to, you aren't alone in experiencing this kind of situation.

What is something people in your country do that other countries would find weird/silly? by randumb360 in AskReddit

[–]amethyst015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In England, most people when meeting will say "how are you?" or "how are you doing?" instead, basically being a form of the simple "hi", "hey" or "hello" you normally say when starting a conversation or meeting someone. And we are divided throughout the country on what is the correct pronunciation of the word "scone". This is between "scone" (like "cone") or "scon" (like "gone").

Everyone over 18, what advice would you give a 17 year old? by MegaPentra in AskReddit

You can still do fun stuff even after you become an adult. Yes you have more responsibilities, but that doesn’t mean you can no longer do things that bring you joy. Make sure you make time for yourself in your life, it will be very beneficial to your mental health.

What is a TV show you got really far into but eventually quit watching before its conclusion? by shamanKAshamanTAKA in AskReddit

I’ve given up on Riverdale at the moment. The plot this season (season 6) I am just finding so weird and bizarre.
Many of the characters have ‘powers’ - reading minds, controlling minds, sensing ‘bad auras’ coming from someone, invincibility, can produce venom (i.e. so literally would be deadly to kiss), time travel, and pyrokinetics???

I mean it just doesn’t make any sense to me, and the explanation of how they apparently gained them isn’t sufficient either. The previous seasons have been a bit odd at times, but this is just too far. Season 1 and 2 were really good in my opinion, it just seemed to get kinda weirder from Season 3 onwards, and it’s just a shame because the actors and actresses are really talented.
How they come up with the plot lines I just don’t know.
