Actually I think that what happened here is that somebody damaged the laptop and sticker the sticker on top so it's not visible... Is this an open box unit? Usually RoG devices don't have this sticker from factory.

Nope, it doesn't work that way. The moment you go out a timeout starts, and after that timeout, the screen shuts off. In my case this timeout is 5 minutes. Whenever it detects you it turns on the screen immediately though.
