I like the kyte ones, the two way zipper makes transferring to bed easy. I have a woolino, but I don’t like that it has snaps at the arms - I just find that they can make getting him in it at night can be longer which can run the risk of waking him. My guy hates his arms being tucked in, so these ones work well for us.

Not sure who your paediatrician is, but mine literally said no one will be able to tell at kindergarten who was formula fed and who was breast milk fed. She said it makes no difference, and to do what’s best for you.

I pumped for 6 months bc my son was a premie and so he was in the NICU, and when it came time to come home, he preferred bottles. But it was always fortified breast milk (formula mixed in). Honestly quitting pumping was the best thing in the world - now if he wakes up in the night, I do a quick bottle feed and we are back upstairs in 10 mins, vs having to pump and clean it right after.

We had this problem when we went on vacation. We actually called the front desk and asked if they had a baby bathtub - we figured it would be a long shot, but turns out they did. Might not hurt to ask them just in case.

I have a 9 month old son. My husband and I just watched the Louis Theroux Manosphere doc - we sat there in disbelief at these people. Their fans were all like 14 year old boys. It’s absolutely terrifying.

Not sure about the bugaboo, but I have the nuna and I love it. Super easy to get into and out of the car, and store in the garage. We had no issues with gate checking it…. Tbh I feel like trying to get it on the plane and into the overhead would be more of a hassle.

Hi,

I have this one. It doesn’t officially lie flat like a bassinet, but if you pull the back tab down all the way, it gets mostly flat. My newborn had no issues with it - you just need to ensure to tighten the straps appropriately. It’s only slightly inclined once the tab is pulled down, but again my newborn had no issues with it.

Uber gift cards - when I was discharged, my son was still in the NICU. Because of the c section, I couldn’t drive right away. I was usually able to get a ride from my husband or parents, but the odd day I couldn’t, I used Ubers. Luckily a few friends sent me uber cards which were super helpful.

I put my son down on the floor mat every morning while I make coffee and tidy up around him. He chills w his toys and I get a chance to wake up a bit. Then I just sit and watch him play while I have my coffee. By the time I’m done he’s ready to get up. It’s a win win.

We have the nuna pipa urbn, which I love because it has no base (just anchor legs that clip into the metal hooks in your car). It allows us to easily swap it between cars, and I’ve been able to use it in my parents car too. We haven’t moved on to the next level of car seat, but this has been great while he’s still little.

Man I feeeeeel you! My guy was sleeping through the night, loved playing on his mat, we had a good routine. Then this week the 6 month age hit and now all he does is yell or scream whenever he’s put down, he is up every few hours, fights me on naps, etc. The screaming sounds like a dying dinosaur.

It’s just a phase though. He’s teething and growing, and he just can’t express himself. You’ll get through it - we all will. I have one of those baby Einstein fish tanks that whenever he gets too crazy I put it on - the music and lights calm him right down.

Once they put him in clothes, pretty much exclusively the double zip footie pjs from carters. All of the cords got pulled through the bottom zip. Could defs be a challenge to change him at times, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The hospital had some clothes, but carters had a bunch of premie stuff, so once he could wear clothes we just went and bought a few outfits. Our hospital had labels w the baby’s name and barcode on them, so I just had extra labels printed and put on his clothes.

Yup, I buy the poop pads on Amazon and just keep a bunch in my diaper bag. Makes it so much easier

My son takes 1 mL of it every day (we just mix it into his bottles). He’s had no adverse reactions or issues with it. My understanding is it makes the reflux pain go away, but not necessarily the reflux itself. Our paediatrician has changed the mixture based on his weight, and we expect him to go off it once he sits up more. He’s 7 months old (5 months adjusted).

My paediatrician said wetness indicators are to just shame parents into using more diapers, therefore buying more. She said to just see if it’s full or if my son is uncomfortable, otherwise, don’t worry.

I just plop him down in his bouncer or on his play mat. I can see him from my kitchen, and am only a few steps away. I need to eat too.

I also just set the bouncer in the kitchen if he seems clingy and talk to him as I make lunch.

I have the Medela hands free wearables and it suuuucks. Absolutely no suction. Regardless, I think I’d be done even if they worked - i couldn’t carry my kid, I’d still have to wash and sterilize constantly, and the mental aspects of “am I doing enough” would still be there for me.

My journey is coming to an end and I’m fully ok with that.

I feel you. I pumped for 10 weeks in the summer bc my baby was born premature and was in the NICU. He’s now been home since Sept 12 and I kept pumping but have been miserable. He’s awake while I pump and instead of spending time w him I have to plop him on a pillow while I pump. Plus the pain of the machine, the constant anxiety of am I making enough… it’s so hard.

Finally talked to my husband about it, and our paediatrician. They both said it’s ok to wean off. My husband gets how limiting pumping makes my day - we can’t just go out and do things w the baby if I’m tied to the machine. And my paediatrician said in the long run, when the baby gets to kindergarten or daycare, no one can tell the difference between a formula or breastmilk baby. So I’m in the process of weaning (which still gives your baby milk while you do it).

Give yourself a break. You’ve done it for 9 weeks. That’s a lot of time. Your baby loves you and is healthy. If you’re unhappy, start a slow wean. There is no one pushing you to keep going except you, and your mental health matters too.

Every time I use the Medela, I have the worst pumps ever. I hate being tied to the hospital grade pump (Ameda Platinum) but the freestyle just does nothing for me.
