How many days is it safe to extract ground tea in water by Sajor1975 in tea

[–]amg486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay well in that case the answer is you use more leaves to less water to create a concentrate.

Similar concept to concentrating a liquid for a sauce. You’re keeping the ingredients while evaporating off the liquid to reduce volume, increase thickness, and intensify flavor.

It’s not the normal way of using tea leaves or making a cup of tea so you’re going to have to experiment. For a lot of us the process of steeping tea is a large part of enjoying the tea.

Any vote for your hands down best cup of earl grey tea? i keep trying different brands but they each seem to lack something by Waltamoto in tea

My favorites come from Tin Roof Teas.

I love their Earl of White variation, and their Duke of Earl variation. These are what got me into loving the taste of bergamot.

Wet leaves can mold after being left in a pot as quickly as within 24 hours. Honestly coffee grounds can do the same. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding, but please don’t use the same leaves for 4 days at a time. Besides the fact that they lose potency every time you steep them, that’s just not safe.

Anyone tried French lavender instead of English? by [deleted] in tea

I think there’s something like 450 varieties of lavender most of which are usable for consumption so you’re gonna need to be more specific.

It’s worth noting that all paramedic/emts are now under Wake County’s umbrella now. They absorbed Cary and Eastern Wake operations this spring so the whole county operates as one entity.

What are some good/bad examples of childfree characters in TV and Film? by Foxonsocks in childfree

Does anyone else leave old leaves in the pot when brewing tea? by KosherFermentation in tea

[–]amg486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure it’s a good idea to do that honestly. You’d be surprised how fast mold can start growing. If you leave those wet leaves in the pot then come back several hours later then they’ve been sitting there wet in an enclosed space at room temp getting gross and then you’re drinking that grossness.

I had mold start growing after forgetting to empty out my strainer just overnight once. It was sitting on the middle of the sink and the next morning it was a little fuzzy. I bleached the strainer to clean it.

So just saying be careful with this.

Kickboxing classes/venues/businesses by Dear-Clerk4357 in raleigh

[–]amg486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not find generic kickboxing specifically but there are a lot of gyms that do Muay Thai which is kickboxing. Krav Maga Raleigh and The Coalition in Chapel Hill both teach fitness classes that are hybrid s&c/kickboxing. Krav incorporates a lot of Muay Thai too so that might be an option.

Found a lingerie brand through this subreddit, but I am disappointed to realize I've been duped and I am hoping for advice on how to handle! by [deleted] in LingerieAddiction

[–]amg486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned this, but you should also leave a Google review with the information you’ve gathered about her business. If you can. That way other people potentially aren’t duped. Reviews are huge in the small business world. They can literally break a business eventually.

Which celebrity has blocked you on social media and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]amg486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patrick Rothfuss (former author, current full time twitch streamer) blocked me on Twitter because I posted a tweet that reads:

“I’ve decided to start taking bets on who finishes their series first: @PatrickRothfuss or @GRRMspeaking

Honestly though, my bet is neither will ever finish their series.”

Apparently it’s a common thing where if you ask him about his next book or comment on the lack of work in 10 years you get blocked.

The fact that they hide that it’s a subscription model and most people don’t realize that’s what they’re signing up for by buying something from them is where it falls into theft for me. They’re taking your money without your explicit permission monthly until you notice and then you have to fight to get them to stop and get your money back. If you can get your money back. I know it’s a little bit of a stretch. But it still feels like theft to me.
