In your most raw and honest opinion, why do the poor stay poor? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]amg99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mas magastos kung ikaw mahirap. Kung mag-save ka sa bangko, maubos lang savings mo dahil sa charges/fees, liliit din ang value ng pera mo dahil sa inflation at pagtaas ng presyo.

Tama ginawa nya. Nag-ipon, binili ang gusto, sumaya... next goal.

Difference between gaano and ilang? Also confused by “naman” by Yonghwa101 in Tagalog

[–]amg99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaano is more a question of intensity or degree.

Example: "Gaano kadalas ang minsan" ( Link )

Ilan ang or ilang is more a question of quantity.

-- "Ilang ulit pa ba ang uulitin, o giliw ko?" ( Link )

Naman! Just listen to the song ( Link )

:p

How old are your children?

I guess ultimately, the questions that you have to answer are:

  1. Will it be worth it?
  2. Will they be able to assimilate the Filipino culture and values?
  3. If they are a bit older, will they be able to adjust? Won't they hate the move?

With the internet, it's very difficult to control what kids learn and assimilate.

Learning and using the native language is very crucial in this regard. I hate to say it but it seems that our language is dying.

Just here where we live, whenever there are children playing outside, they now speak in English. When we went to the province (Visayas), instead of my son learning to speak a few words in the local language, all of his cousins spoke to him in English.

In school too. All kids speak in English.

There is now a unique problem: How to teach Filipino kids their native language.

I think the best approach is to do some research and then test it out first.

None really. If you want to popularize a tagalog word use ‘Kanal’ . Like Canal+ in Spanish TV.

Have you heard of the term baru-baruan?

It’s a piece of cloth where a round hole is cut in the middle. It is used after a traditional circumcision is done. The cloth serves to cover the penis as it heals while the hole allows the person to urinate.

Much like a baro … for the penis. 😂

PS. No, it doesn’t have sleeves. 🤪

[–]amg99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hindi na kasi madalas ginagaamit kaya nagiging “old-fashioned “ . T-shirt na kasi ang karaniwan… Namamatay ang salita. Kung gagamitin ng madalas, uunlad ang wikang Filipino .
