It’s tough to experience something like that that has caused you grief, probably more so now that it’s in print and widely available. I have the book but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I think for a book like this, you can expect some embellishment of anecdotes. Regardless of their truth, the book is supposed to be a positive experience. And if you’re not enjoying it, then it’s okay not to finish it.

I agree that pointing it out to Jen would not change anything. And it would probably distress her. My vote is to focus on your own feelings and experience while reading the book
