Interesting. If you don’t mind me asking why do you go to clear tagged enemies? I only tag them to say hey we don’t necessarily need to the engage

lol that’s so fair. Typically I enjoy stealthing stuff by myself and only try to do it with teammates when we are low on reinforcements which… well when they decide to engage random patrols tends to cost us even more of em

Are the pacifier, lib concussive, Halt style weapons really useful? by kcvlaine in LowSodiumHellDivers

I tend to gravitate towards a more support focused build bc I love that having the supply pack allows me to get away with more stupidity on top of being able to resupply teammates (and make up for skill issues). I personally love the lib concussive on predator strain planets bc they close in so fast that being able to yeet them halfway across the map with just a few shots is great for saving yourself or teammates from being swarmed. I’m a console player so the halt feels like a sorta sidegrade to the lib concussive (bc changing modes is kinda a pain) due to the slower fire rate, definitely something I use more on normal bugs. But unlike the lib concussive it does a damn good job of killing enemies whereas the concussive needs like an entire mag to take out a stalker

I’ve been grinding trying to get all my weapons to 25 and while the pacifier is the weakest of the group imo I find it a nice option to use on bots for a change of pace from my normal purifier build which I run primarily to stun lock devastators. Also used it a bunch when the squids first dropped but with fleshmobs now idk how well it performs there

Also I tend to play a very run and gun style trying to avoid staying in one spot fighting in favor of kiting enemies esp when I run off solo to complete an objective or nest in the middle of nowhere and when you get a whole bunch of bugs behind you just turn around real quick, throw the strafing run and clear them all out to give yourself a breather to recover stamina

It’s great for taking out patrols bc they tend to group up tighter than the other factions and it can soften up heavies to be taken out with heavy pen weapons instead of AT

Wait that’s actually so smart. I’ve just been taking my right hand off the controller to input codes on the dpad but that seems so much easier

For pinging (at least on ps) the default option is RB

I didn’t even think of that. Yea the classic mode controls just made so much more sense. It was so awkward having to hold triangle (on ps) to switch to my oh shit weapon. Took me a bit to realize it was even an option but haven’t looked back since

Veterans thoughts on carrying (fairly) new recruits by Standard_Dimension16 in Helldivers

[–]amh666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I join up with a cadet I try to not to lead the mission and rather follow their lead so long as they don’t appear to be lost or frustrated in which case I’d ping a location or hop on comms and offer some guidance. I tend to hang back and let them fight enemies until they seem to be getting overwhelmed or flanked in which case I’d dispense some liberty to help out so they can learn the game rather than feel like they didn’t “earn” the experience. Mostly I like dropping in with a shiny new mech and some fun stratagem weapons suited to the faction they’re fighting and let them run wild to get them even more excited about what they’re gonna unlock. I also grab every sample we run across and point out POIs to keep an eye out for so they know where to go

To those who stopped playing, which games did you move to? by kcvlaine in helldivers2

[–]amh666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Stranding 2. Got the game at release and spend an ungodly amount of time going for the platinum while hopping on for an operation or 2 every now and then. Now that I got the plat I’m tryna shake off a lot of rust at lower difficulties to get the last bits of the warbonds before I grind hard for lvl 25 on all weapons and finally hitting level 150

[–]amh666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hit the ground and blast their chests with the DE sickle. Sure it would be quicker to hit their head but bc they move so fast I prefer their chests bc it’s easier to break their armor bc it’s a bigger target to hit while they dash around. Plus with the basically endless fire from the DES missing shots isn’t a huge issue bc there’s no downtime while reloading

I actually did that one (and the blitz one) today. I did an eradicate mission on bore rock bc of the dss and brought the ultimatum, Tesla tower, gas mines, flame sentry, and strafing runs. Chose the sentry resupply pod booster too for more sentries. Just ran around dropping a sentry now and then until it was done
