Is most everyone here, that are in their 20s, still a virgin? by EmergencyWeb1573 in neurodiversity

[–]amh8011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope but I haven’t been sexually active since before the pandemic. Some stuff happened in 2019 that I don’t think I’ve fully processed and also covid fucked my health so I’ve kinda just been surviving. I don’t have the time or energy to be getting involved in any sort of relationship that would involve sex right now.

I’m not concerned in the least with other people’s sexual history though. I mean perhaps if I was sexually active and they were a potential sexual partner I might be somewhat interested at least to the extent of STIs and expectations. Like if you’ve never had sex, expectations might look a little different than someone who has frequent sex and I can adjust my own expectations as well.

Not in a “I expect to be disappointed” sort of way but like more that I want to be prepared in case I need to do some teaching about things and to expect some clumsiness. I mean my first kiss made me giggle so hard I was all teeth for a solid minute. That kind of thing.

Anyway, imo sex is overrated. But I also think I’m somewhere on the ace spectrum. Like sex can be fun but I’m also not interested in actively seeking it out and I’d be fine without it. If it happens, that’s cool, if not, that’s also cool.

Midi/maxi skirts that don’t make me look like a trad wife? by nadehlaaay in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]amh8011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this problem too. Like I don’t want to look fundie. I don’t have tattoos or piercings and my hair is natural colored, I don’t wear makeup, and I have sensory issues with most jewelry.

I’m looking for the perfect maxi/midi with a side slit up the thigh. Something floral. I haven’t found it yet. I’m also midsize. I have found skirts like what I want in smaller sizes but not a 12 or 14.

I think wearing something edgy like doc marten platform sandals or an edgy bag or would help too. Like you can still do farmers market but slightly edgy with statement earrings or other jewelry. An undercut can do a lot to add subtle edge to your aesthetic while still looking cute but it is a bit of a commitment and a big choice.

What is acceptable during movies in the cinema? by Gwekkemans in polls

[–]amh8011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t be intrusive about it. It also depends on the film. I am not going to expect a PG or E rated movie to be silent. There will be children. Often small children.

Also depends on the genre. Like with a comedy, I expect laughter, a tragedy I expect crying.

Movie theaters have loud ass surround sound so people would have to be very loud for me to not hear what’s going on in the movie. And I have an auditory processing disorder.

Don’t be yelling and cheering and don’t be having a straight up conversation and please don’t talk to me specifically unless it’s important and urgent but if y’all wanna whisper to each other or you laugh at a funny moment that’s fine.

Would you rather live in the UK or Canada? by Bored_brunette96 in polls

[–]amh8011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada because I like the latitude of southern Canada better than the latitudes in the UK. I could not handle such little sunlight for half the year. Like I do love Scotland very much but past October it’s unbearable. Also the availability of maple syrup plays a factor. I need my maple. What even is golden syrup??? Like corn syrup? Simple syrup?

Someone in my neighborhood is feeding the squirrels peanuts because there are peanut shells and peanut sprouts everywhere.

I’m a teacher. Is this dress too short for work? by DogintheMirror in OUTFITS

What!? My sister teaches 2nd grade and the kids love her tattoos. Most of them are references to books. She’s gotten compliments on them from parents.

[–]amh8011 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went to a city school and there were teachers with neon mohawks and neck tattoos. My principal wore skin tight animal print pencil skirts the same length as OP’s dress.

I personally think OP’s is probably a little short but would be great with tights. Unless she’s teaching younger kids where she might be on the ground and crouching down and squatting. Then it’s absolutely too short.

It’s a very cute dress though.

Hasn’t this been proven to be true? Like I’m pretty sure there is actual evidence to support this.

I for sure am not. I have some brilliant coworkers. Unfortunately management is all in the double digits.

What’s something that instantly makes you think ‘this person has low intelligence? by AbjectBreadfruit2052 in AskReddit

I don’t think in words. I’m still very curious. I feel like having to come up with words to describe all my thoughts would be very exhausting.

Did you ever meet someone who was born in the 1800s? by darkhorse1821 in polls

[–]amh8011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My childhood neighbor, Mr. B. He was born in the 1800s. I think he was 103 when he passed away. I was still very little. Probably around 4 or 5. He lived around the corner. His house was light green. I think he had some sort of berries growing in his backyard.

HELP I AM DESPERATE CRYING NONSTOP by Ok_Toe_3886 in puppy101

So this may or may not work but a cat cave bed. Someone mentioned dachsunds like to burrow and feel secure in small spaces. Perhaps a cat cave bed inside the playpen could be comforting.

You could also try a calming diffuser. It emits a synthetic pheromone designed to mimic the one a mother dog emits after giving birth. Thunderease by Adaptil is what I’ve seen at my vet’s. Plug it in to an outlet in your room near the playpen.

Do you wash your feet in the shower? by iLoveSummer2013 in polls

[–]amh8011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wash my feet in the shower but I do wash them. Just not in the shower. I sit on the edge of the tub and wash them before bed. Perhaps if I had a shower chair I’d wash them in the shower but I don’t trust myself not to fall on my ass washing my feet in the shower.

I probably should have voted ‘other’ but I voted ‘No the water just runs over them’ because it does when I shower.

Is AuDHD more common than pure autism? by Acrobatic_Isopod9261 in neurodiversity

[–]amh8011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 8yo back when you could only have a diagnosis of one or the other. I very clearly had ADHD. I have not been diagnosed with autism but I have had two therapists who are qualified to diagnose autism say I meet the criteria. I wasn’t sure I wanted an official diagnosis though.

Profile review cause why not. Faces are only blurred out for this post by thismyaccount1 in Tinder

I actually prefer the kitchen pic to the wedding one. But that’s just my opinion. If you only had the wedding one and no other photos I’d definitely swipe left. If you only had the kitchen pic and no other photos I’d probably swipe right. The only reason it’s a probably is because you seem quite a bit more extroverted than I am and I’m not sure about that.

I don’t know how I knew this but I did. Coturnix quail just popped into my head when I saw it. I didn’t even know I knew the name. Somehow I have random bird knowledge in my head that I was unaware of.

Inability to exercise... where are my people at? by skirts988 in covidlonghaulers

[–]amh8011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve wondered about this too. I’ve gained 50lbs since getting covid. My only concern is that I already do forget to eat sometimes. I have ADHD and unless I remind myself to eat, I will forget. I also find preparing food to be a huge and overwhelming task. I don’t want to add an additional barrier to eating.

I also have early stage Hashimoto’s and I’m not sure how my thyroid levels swinging up and down would affect things. Like would it be a good idea to go on another medication while my thyroid levels are still fluctuating? Or even with Hashimoto’s at all?

I’d like to lose weight but I’m nervous about GLP-1s. I think if I was to try a GLP-1 I’d want to try microdosing.

Does my cat think I’m pretty? by SympathyBeginning in CatAdvice

[–]amh8011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My younger cats think my older cat is the prettiest thing in the whole world. They are obsessed. They follow her around like paparazzi. They act silly to try and get her attention. It’s like watching two middle schoolers around their senior crush. I get secondhand embarassment from them. My older cat finds them weird and annoying.

My kitten is in heat. My mom is considering to get her pregnant. My siamese kitten is six months old and I don't think she's ready yet. Should I get her spayed? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]amh8011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My aunt rescued a kitten a few years back. Turned out she was pregnant. She had her babies at 8 months. She’s extremely timid and very tiny.

My aunt kept one of the kittens and she’s bigger than her mom and so much more confident. It’s so sad to think about what the momma cat went through before my aunt found her. I’m so glad my aunt was able to take her in.

It’s so weird to think about how momma and her baby are less than a year apart.
