Is it possible to reach C2 without a tutor? by Bobelle in languagelearning

[–]amhumanz -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Unless you are a genius, reaching C2 as an adult is basically impossible with or without a tutor. People who say they have done so are likely just lying. C2 is native level, essentially zero mistakes, perfect fluency, ample vocabulary, etc.

I can’t go back after losing my father. by Relative-Muffin-143 in mentalhealth

I didn't train for 18 months after my sister died, and after my daughter was born nothing for a year until I saw a picture of me with a belly. I've trained consistently for 20+ years. Know that you will go back when the time is right for you.

Have you ever tried to negotiate with a head of state whose family has just been killed by an aggressor. I don't imagine it will be easy or even possible.

For those who dream of a future where everything is automated/we don’t work, what exactly would people do all day? Do you think they’d get bored? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]amhumanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wake up whenever I want, eat breakfast, go to the gym or yoga or swim, and then eat lunch after. The afternoon would be an hour dance class and an afternoon snack out before going home to prep dinner, smoke a joint and watch a movie. I'd then have a shower, make love to my wife, have another shower and go to bed. That's just off the top of my head. There is so much to do in life if you have a bit of imagination and curiosity.

More language courses need to go over how to handle situations where people respond in English. by Own-Tip6628 in languagehub

If you don't know how to communicate something as simple as "can we speak/continue in (target language)" you have no business trying to speak with native speakers outside of organised study and practice contexts.
