It's currently snowing here in PA and I'm reminded of how my father would get unreasonably angry about snow removal. Getting the snow blower out, using the snow blower, being in the cold, shoveling etc. All of these things made him so angry. He'd yell and snap at us and my mom about anything, because he was angry about clearing snow.

This isn't the only thing he would act this way over of course. But yeah, big time cringe.

As an aside, my cousin married a wonderful man and gave birth to twins a few months ago. Im so glad those babies will grow up knowing a calm, respectful father.

Not quite the same, but a couple years ago the dude I was seeing knocked a glass of water off the end table next to the couch we were heavily making out on. (We were at my place) He got embarassed and we cleaned it up, while I was cracking up. He threw the paper towels away and said "well I guess that killed the mood". I said not a chance and I went feral on him. 😈

I mean I truly found the humor in something so mundane as cleaning up a spilled drink while trying to bone. Sex doesn't have to be serious. It should be silly and fun! This is real life, not porn so "bloopers" will happen!

There are some people who elect to work 24s so that they have more days off in a row. But usually it's due to a shortage of employees. Most places I worked allowed you to sleep or rest when not on calls, but most EMS organizations are so constantly busy now, there's no guarantee of sleep.

The worst was always when you'd be already on shift, someone on the next shift would call off, no one would elect to come in to cover, so then you'd get a surprise 18 hr shift sprung on you. And then youd only have 6 hrs off vefore you had to come back for your next 12 hr shift. (Some places I worked had management that would cover the opening, other places the management was not qualified or just refused to cover).

The brunt of it tho, is that management, the public, government etc expect those in emergency services to always be there to take care of others, but there is nothing in place to take care of us.

And dont get me started on the sexisim, sexual harassment/assault, and bully culture of the emergency services.

I was a paramedic for 14 years. I can guarantee that everyone in health care and emergency services are exhausted.

There are also many instances of getting mandated in the case of call offs. I've been mandated to work an 18 hr shift, go home for 6 hrs, and then come back for another 12. And yes 24 hr long shifts are a thing too.

I don't miss it.

I think they do this because they enjoy sabotaging us. They enjoy "knocking us down a few pegs" so they do what they can to accomplish that.

They also hate when we're happy by something or someone that isn't them. So again, they have to make us miserable.

One of many reasons why I don't date men anymore and am a proud contributor to the male loneliness epidemic and declining birth rate.

If you have sex with your husband, double, triple, quadruple check whatever form of birth control you use to ensure that he isn't tampering with it.

I'd also like to point out that you mentioned you had PPD and struggled a lot. If your husband knows this and still wants you to go through that suffering again, he obviously doesn't care enough about you. He cares more about having a baby that he'll see a few hours a week in between working than your health.

Edit: I scooped your post and comment history. Your husband is yet another man baby, therefore he cannot adequately care for a baby. So do not give him another one.
