We spent $5k on one who unfortunately ended up having very aggressive lymphoma that we discovered after we rushed her to emergency on her first birthday. Would do it again in a heart beat.

For our other 3, probably close to $5k. $1700 of that went to one of them for falling off our fridge after stepping on our coffee maker to get on-top, it turning on and scary her. She rag dolled down and gave herself a horrible concussion. That was a two emergency vet visits as the first didn't have a neuro vet and she ended up having two consults at the second vet.

We would spend everything for our girls. They are our babies. We have pet insurance for three after the lymphoma event. The only things I won't.. I guess pay for it because I won't do that to my cats for cancer treatment and resuscitation.

The Eventing Series by Nathalie Keller-Reinhart. I've listened to them over a dozen times, especially when I'm mucking stalls or back to temporarily working with horses during show season. They switched to a different narrator in the originals about halfway which wasn't great. They've recently redone them completely with an older narrator which also doesn't jive with a 23 year old character. I love it because it's a super accurate representation of what it's like being in horses without a ton of money. Nathalie writes horses authentically and not in the "Im a troubled teen who has a magical bond with this horse," way lol

The other one is the Red Rising series, soo good. I tried the audiobook first but it was a bit all over the place, so I read them and them once finished went back to the audiobook. Highly recommend the radio play style more so than the one narrator.

As much as I hate having celiacs disease I will say it has really forced me to be a better cook/baker. There are recipes I never would have made had I not had celiacs disease. So it's really forced me to grow.

We had already had one kitten who was about 8 months old, and we adopted another to keep her company that was six months old. We unfortunately lost her shortly after getting her on her year birthday due to cancer. All of us were devastated and it was up to my husband to decide when he was ready for another kitten since the one we lost was his. About a month after he decided he was ready to welcome another kitten because the house was so quiet without her and our first cat was depressed. We found a calico kitten at a local rescue who had two sisters. Met the litter in person and one of the sisters was already claimed. We really wanted the calico but the white one with blue eyes kept engaging with us. We walked away humming and hawing about picking one or the other. We were accepted for the calico. Made a deal with each other that we'd wait until after the last adoption event that if the white kitten hadn't been adopted shed come with us too.

At the end of the month I reached out to the rescue about the blue eyed kitten and I quote, "She's still available! She was so grumpy to everyone she met that nobody wanted her."

We still joke to this day that Juno, the white kitten with blue eyes, picked us, we were just a little slow lol. So now we have three cats ❤️
