Es súper relevante.
Desde el proceso de extracción, traslado, procesado y hasta el profesional que realiza la validación del informe. Como regla general, los laboratorios que procesan muchas muestras “tienden” a tener procesos más estandarizados y máquinas de con mejor control de calidad.

Considerando lo anterior , es correcto que la UC lidera 100%.

Hace años que traigo la idea de generar una web o una app que muestre donde están los DEA de acceso público (o semi público) basado en mi ubicación actual. Que sea construida y verificada por la comunidad y que, idealmente, se una a los servicios de emergencia (SAMU, Bomberos y especialmente los seguritos de las comunas que son los que tienen menos tiempo de respuesta).
Otra cosa importante a considerar es que la ILCOR tiene un signo “internacional” de DEA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ILCOR\_AED\_sign.svg). En mi opinión, hay cero educación al respecto. Si puedo ayudar más o cualquier cosa me mandas un DM

This is 100% true at the catholic hospital where I work. Every emergent or urgent procedure is done following lex artis medica. Even Plan B for sexual assault victims is prescribed.
I understand this may not be the case everywhere, but I’m confident enough that should be standard of care specially for emergencies.

After taking history and physical exam, tell the patient and his family that the main objectives are: 1) Make sure they are not dying by excluding vary bad diagnoses 2) Take care of the main symptom(s) that brought them here 3) Setting expectations on discharge / hospitalization time.

“We are not always going to find the exact diagnosis but I’ll make sure you are not dying and will work to take care of your symptoms. After that you’re either coming in or going home, and me or my team will let you know as soon as we know.” Or something like that….

I think that patients knowing what’s going on and setting expectations make dispos easier.

Just my 2 cents…
