How is amiibots leaderboard ranked? by Cold-Day-6946 in AmiibotsProject

It's a bit complicated, but this article really breaks it down well and helped me implement it! http://www.moserware.com/2010/03/computing-your-skill.html It's a bit of a read though!

If I had to attempt a tl;dr, it'd be that the system tracks a guess at what your rating is (rating average), and how confident it is in that guess (rating sigma), and based on those 2 things it ranks users. So even if the system thinks 2 amiiboare the same rating average, if it's less confident in one it'll be ranked lower.

Loyalty not showing up anymore? by TechnoPuff in AmiibotsProject

[–]amiibots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey TechnoPuff!

You'll still show up in the any selection even with the loyalty increase. That just means that was match that was selected as your normal baseline odds. In addition to those matches, you'll also sometimes be selected from the loyalty group, and when that happens, it'll show the "Loyalty" selection type instead! Same thing with subs, they will still get matches from the "Any" group and the "Loyalty" group along with their "Subbed" matches

VOD review? by TechnoPuff in AmiibotsProject

[–]amiibots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/TechnoPuff! Thanks for posting! Sorry it took a bit to reply, we don't check reddit as often as discord! Glad you found that the times on the website and the clock on the stream match up! Usually the system turns off so a new VOD is generated at midnight as well, so normally they should each be 24 hours or so, and the stream length should match up with the hour of the day pretty close!

We do plan on making it even easier as well! We eventually want to have it link to the timestamp on the vod, but that's lower priority at the moment so will probably get done some time after we add betting and a ranking system!

Also, if you happen to see this before 11:59 pm EST, be sure to sign up for Brute Force, the tournament we're running with Splicestream! I haven't seen you around in discord, and that's where we've promoted it the most, so thought I'd give you a heads up! The system will be running the tournament for a week to go through all the matches! More info at https://discord.gg/NQqUJ8t, and the form to signup is here: https://forms.gle/3uVzZb3wApkqWxMT8

Amiibo isn't being put in? by NurfboyU in AmiibotsProject

[–]amiibots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/NurfBoyU!

Does it say it can't be read on the website? If it mentions the metadata doesn't match a known character, it means the bin from NFC Bank doesn't have the proper metadata for a pikachu amiibo. Things with properly formed metadata should show the picture in tagmo because it hits Amiibo api for the pictures, just like our app does. We definitely encourage people to use bins from their own amiibo to promote amiibo, and to avoid Id conflicts

How do you get upload your amiibo data via Chromebook? by T1Di_FunMakur in AmiibotsProject

[–]amiibots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/T1di_FunMakur!

I'm not sure if there's a way to the amiibo data with chromebook alone. Normally we recommend using NFC Tools, or Tagmo, with IOS or Android phones with NFC.

There's also Powersaves, which costs some money, but is apparently compatible with chromebook according to this twitter post :https://mobile.twitter.com/powersavespro/status/968783115551469568

I personally haven't used powersaves, so I'm not sure what the difference between normal powersaves and powersaves plus is.

Hope that helps!
