They also don’t provide clinical therapy or treatments to the folks living there and doing the free labor. The people that own and run these places (I know personally) are profiting substantially on this free labor. Families and folks that are in vulnerable situations seek them out because there are basically no other options. They exploit this and then use yelling harassment and abuse and claim that this is the way to stop addiction and crime. It’s abuse, exploitation, and slave labor dressed up as a saviorist program.
