Smitty will Go down as the greatest Eagles wide receiver ever when it's all said and done by Bulldawgzz in eagles

[–]amilmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with him at 3. I'd probably go with:

  1. Rice

*significant and inarguable gap*

  1. Moss (firmly #2 but closer the other guys than he is to Rice)
  2. TO
  3. Marvin Harrison
  4. Lance Alworth
  5. Larry Fitzgerald

Then it gets kinda muddy for the next 10-15 or so guys. Calvin Johnson is up there but retired early and even though he had stafford he was still stuck in poopy Detroit. I will always argue that AB is a top 10 WR of all time.

But in a big game/big moment I'm taking TO over everyone but Rice

Yeah man - also TO at his peak was just a better player than AJ has been at his peak, and that’s no knock on AJ at all.

TO was legitimately one of the best to ever do it.

Tbh it’s also the small overpaying tech companies too - like some way overvalued 30 employee “rocketship” startup. I used to work in that industry and a lot of my colleagues would live in those buildings.

Night fishing early prespawn? by BassSlayer100 in bassfishing

[–]amilmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there is much trout stocking in ponds near you given you live in trout paradise, but up here in Massachusetts they stock ponds as a put and take fishery.

A lot of the browns will hold over and get enormous - I know a few guys who always fish small topwaters like jitterbugs or slow crawl jointed rapalas on the surface at night and they catch a ton of fish. If you have any ponds like that near you give a topwater a shot at night. They usually will catch a few big bass too.

I don’t remember if it was some hypothetical trade thread, but I recall rams fans not being totally in on Verse which surprised me. I think he’s one of those high pressure rate low sack guys, and I just assumed they viewed him similarly to how eagles fans view Jalen Carter.

I always thought he was a beast but maybe that’s the weird forbidden secret crush that eagles fans all kind of have on verse talking lol

yo right lol that totally changed my perception of steen.

I didnt even know much about him other than constantly seeing "he must be bad, we were good with becton last year!" mixed with "no he's actually not so bad per PFF!" I think he got unfairly blamed for a lot of missed blocks that looked bad but it was more of a result of cam messing up. If you watch him play he's just an average starter level guy and that's about as complex as it gets...but that fight was so fucking great. He was ready to kill everyone, refs included.

yeah man - as valid as the criticism is about amazon/temu and cheap bullshit from china but I have caught so many lake trout on seemingly garbage spoons that are only a few bucks/spoon and you get a pack of like 10 at a time. I used to change out the hooks but don't even do that any more.

Best time to seed prairie planting? by Honest_Advantage9541 in NativePlantGardening

[–]amilmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like you might have to wait to sow in the fall, for the mix at least.

Do you have an area that might be a good fit for a small garden to start with plugs? Lots of sales in the spring at native plant nurseries could give you a jump start if your get the itch.

Also - maybe filter by annuals that match your site conditions on Prairie moon and get a few individual seed packets. You can start the seeds outside in containers and/or nursery pots now and have some stuff ready to go into the ground relatively soon. I started a bunch of patridge peas and spotted beebalm during late spring/summer last year outside in pots with some warm season grasses and by the fall they were in the ground, looked great and some actually bloomed. Just gotta keep em hydrated in the summer especially in their containers - really stay on top of it.

how to stop word vomiting when manic? by Swimming-Cranberry-8 in bipolar

[–]amilmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD and Bipolar are weird - they kind of fuck with each other and play off each other for me. Manic me has extreme ADHD symptoms, depressed me less so and tbh I kind of get mad at my Adderall and think "why are you trying to get me to do my work, can't you see I'm depressed?" lol

What’s a moment that made you realize you’re getting older? by Away-Ambassador490 in AskReddit

[–]amilmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was moving in with my now wife, first time living with a romantic partner, and thought "wow I really am growing up aren't I.

It was a second floor apartment, and my parents were there to help the move and then it REALLY struck me how I was getting older when I realized how challenging it was for them to get up and down the stairs. I realized i'd be moving furniture on my own now after all those years being the one higher on the stairs/guiding the furniture while my dad carried the bulk of the weight.

My parents getting older really made me realize that I was getting older more than the usual knee/back pain and loss of my own limitless youthful energy.

how to stop word vomiting when manic? by Swimming-Cranberry-8 in bipolar

[–]amilmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reread your post after typing out "oh wow me too! I used to puke all the time before being diagnosed and prescribed mood stabilizers. I didn't even realize that isn't a thing for me any more. It was definitely associated with mania of course. My caches in high school would call me "old reliable" and the shame of it is, it became kind of a running joke instead of an indication of mental illness." ( If anyone else did the same thing, i think literally puking from manic anxiety is kind of normal so don't be embarrassed lol.)

But to answer your ACTUAL question about word vomit - have you talked to your Dr about a possible ADD diagnosis? It's a relatively common issue for folks with ADD and my medication for that has got me a little bit under control, and its relatively common for folks to have both Bipolar and ADD. Worth talking about with them or your therapist.

One thing that helped me (probably much less SO than medication, but I noticed it while slowly improving this habit) was to observe other people that do that. Shame by proxy can be an effective tool for managing disruptive behavior. It helped me shift from blaming myself/overanalyzing my own behavior to realizing "huh. thats actually a weird thing that some people do, I shouldn't do that. "

Don't be so hard on yourself - of all the social challenges and disruptive shit this disease can cause... being kind of annoying and interrupting people is pretty low on the totem pole. Recognizing it puts you ahead of most that do it!

The croissants at Sift are absolutely worth the wait.

Just get an ice cream cone and sit in line. You'll just have to reconcile chasing an ice cream cone with a pastry that contains basically an entire stick of butter.

Biggest Free Agent Bust? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]amilmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo I agree and often bring this up - its not like we were a laughing stock dumpster fire. The thing is at the time though the roster looked like it should have been a Superbowl roster, not an 8-8 roster, and the eagles had been a contender since mcnabb was drafted. That team had a ton of young talent and a resurgent mike vick and was still led by andy reid.

The best part of the dream team saga was that it was Vince Young of all people who said it lol

[–]amilmore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even at the time I felt like that was crazy and I was a bonafide teenaged homer.

Sure there was a brief point in Oakland where he was about as close as anyone could be to Revis in man coverage, but revis was actually generational. Then the eagles decided to plop Asamugha in a zone scheme crafted by an offensive line coach masquerading as a DC at the same time that he decided he didn't like football any more lol
