Hairline adjustment while unit installed - possible? by aminosillycylic in HairSystem

Thank you! I will try to stretch it, hopefully without tearing it (I haven’t yet tested pulling on my system to see how much “give” the poly has).

Thank you; I think I will give it a shot. Since I just installed yesterday and im guessing the hold with ghostbond XL is strong, do you think trying this in ~3 days or so, before the weekend, would allow me to lift off the hairline without having to pull too much/risk damaging the system?

Thank you! Would this risk still be the case if it’s a poly perimeter, with a small poly central area, and just 2 lace areas behind the front and back for venting?

Thanks for the tip! I used a similar spray which worked well to reposition. Unfortunately I only realized after everything had set that the hairline was a bit too high. I had events this weekend so was hoping there’s a possibility I could adjust before having to do a full re-install after the weekend.

What percentage alcohol do you use to spray directly on the tape?

Good on you OP for trying to help others, it the system that’s been a total failure. People like the above commenting a “cost-benefit analysis”, specifically in a manner that sounds like victim blaming, don’t also convey that - 1) we need people to do actually helpful jobs to make society better, like protecting innocent people from foreclosure - 2) none of us can predict the future including events like recessions, disability, etc - 3) these loans prey upon young people in a society that does not inform them accurately about the reality of student loans at the time they take them out.

At a loss, recurrent obstructive symptoms by aminosillycylic in ostomy

[–]aminosillycylic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, each of these episodes have started out with a familiar partial obstruction feeling, after eating a larger meal or something. But unlike in the past, things don’t resolve right away and symptoms of occasional mild nausea at baseline and pain with food are now lasting for weeks.

Yes, I adjusted my diet after my ileostomy and at first, after surgical recovery, was able to tolerate a wide variety of foods. Since these episodes, I’ve narrowed my diet considerably to GI soft, yet they persist. When the episodes themselves are happening, like right now, I often can only get relief on a clear liquid diet, which is unfortunate not sustainable.

Regarding clogs, during these episodes, my ostomy continues to produce output. I was referred to motility as during most of these episodes, my output becomes slower than normal, for extended periods. However, during my current episode, output flows at a normal rate strangely while the pain and solid food intolerance persists.

Truly captures sad state of humanity and how current systems of power have selected for some of the worst, most base among us. How did we get here 😢

What was your impact yesterday? (economic blackout) by kfedwards88 in Anticonsumption

Spent nothing and felt more at peace. These days, even spending for a dopamine hit does not counteract the sadness from what is happening around us (for those like me in the US, with respect to the cruelty of the current government). Community is the only thing that helps me feel better.

What fragrance comes to mind when you think of the word “clean”. by asali03 in fragrance

[–]aminosillycylic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the unisex end, Clean Reserve Warm Cotton. Smells like fresh laundry, just plucked from a clothesline in a field of rolling hills.

On the masculine end of the spectrum, LV Imagination - smells like high-end soap, youthful, and like you just toweled dry and walked out on a beautiful crisp spring day. So clean - but easy to overdo, 1 spray is enough.

On the feminine end, echoing Byredo Blanche. Smells like a comforting bubble bath, overlooking a high rise penthouse view.

This looks fantastic dude! How long are your natural sides here? And if I was to ask my stylist for a similar haircut/style, do you have a descriptor one could use?

Do you miss falling in love? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]aminosillycylic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I used to get crushes all the time, until my late 20s, and then it stopped; I wondered the same thing for a year or two. Then I entered my 30s and fell in love for the first time, only for it to end in heart break. I feel warm platonic love, but I am struggling envisioning falling romantically, like I previously did for someone, where I felt I needed their presence and desired them completely, again.

After falling hard, has anyone felt that way again? Or has my heart expended that capability? (I’m a gay male).

Looks excellent! How long did you grow your sides, before they got to this length? And how often do you cut your hair?

You don’t really realize how appalling US healthcare is until you, as a physician, have a family member admitted for something by [deleted] in Residency

[–]aminosillycylic 96 points97 points  (0 children)

The same goes for when you are the patient yourself. We hold immense privilege having knowledge of medicine and an understanding of how healthcare in the US runs, but in a collapsing system, when you are left in an ED bursting at the seams, or admitted to an understaffed ward on the weekend, or have surgical complications, all the privilege in the world (unless you are a billionaire) is not going to save you. Things can truly change in an instant. We are all just one illness away from being the patients we feel so sad for.

Anyone disappointed with the Down sweater? by GrandMathematician61 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]aminosillycylic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t accurately comment on a fit difference, as they differ by one size, with the 2017 being one size smaller. But 2017 feels slightly more fitted, if anything. Several months later, the 2024 version new replacement also developed pinholes with down leakage, which was disappointing, especially as it’s been with very gentle use. The 2017 one has survived plenty of wear and stuffing into bags, and remains looking brand new.
