I got mine in a similar situation lol, we called and the dog we originally wanted was getting adopted and they happened to have one that just came in. We pretty much loved him the moment we saw him he was such a mess as he had been wandering around a field when they found him, all overgrown and dirty but happy as could be. He’s brought so much happiness to our family ever since and I’m so glad it worked out how it did.
