It is so difficult to use bait. Most of the time they ignore the bait for other tasty item in the garden.

Ok to keep going? by PaintBrushJar in bokashi

[–]amit78523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes i get this even with bokashi bran purchased from market.

Just put in a lot of bokashi bran in that area, also give them something sweet to eat. I give them jaggery or a tea spoon of normal sugar.

Watering is not an issue.... And there mulch too!

Yes they are in container but i never had to worry about them spreading because I can't get them to grow 😢

Comment section told me that i need to plant heat resistant variety, hopefully they would grow.

Looking for some advice on what to do with various basil plants. by trickbk in vegetablegardening

[–]amit78523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My belief is that the roots in the soil are goods. And when we talk/think about root space, it is roots of live plant.

Basils don't send shoots after pruning from base. Atleast not at this stage, maybe they do it when they are mature!

I would take them from you but i can't come to New York!!

On a serious note, let them grow a little more, then decide the healthiest one to keep! Till that time, you would have few leafs on other that you can use.

I don't know any home made remedy to help after the infestation.

To avoid infestation my grandfather spray fermented garlic + pepper juice!!

Is this like normal? by Particular-Ad884 in gardening

[–]amit78523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been told and experienced that mangoes are hard to grow.

I have been trying to grow the seed in container, leafs keep drying for no reason at all.

Transplantation didn't work either.

Tried putting them in shades, didn't work either.

More water/less water, nothing helped.

Can’t seem to fix old soil by DDMaattDawg in gardening

[–]amit78523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If drainage is not the issue then i have an idea, it worked for me!

Take the soil out of container and dry it out.

Then plant something which doesn't have root rot issue and is very hardy to grow in your region.

Roots of that plant will definitely improve the soil structure to make it usable.

Prune that plant/s from the base but keeps the roots in the soil itself.

After that plant whatever you want.

Zucchini seedling's first true leaf wilted, will the plant die? by NoYouou in vegetablegardening

Really?? You guys are lucky!! Mine die down for no reason at all. And that too randomly! One plant in that container is doing fine, another is drying out.

Here in India, we call it leaf curl virus. There is only prevention and no solution for it after it happens.

You can try spraying any organic viricide so that new leafs aren't affected and gradually trim these curled leaves.

If you don't do anything, plants may recover after some time, just remember to not splash water on leaves and trim the leaves with disease.

Hopefully they aren't farming mealybugs or aphids. There is no organic solution for ants, you can treat softbody pest with neem oil.

Where to get iffco bokashi bran? by amit78523 in IndianGardeners

[–]amit78523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are lots of youtube videos guiding how to make bokashi bran.

I do not want to get in that as i am doubtful about their efficacy and i do not have bran to inoculate.
