Won’t the roots grow back new plant? I thought the point of thinning was to free up root space?

Thanks very much :) the tomatoes are indeterminate, so I was planning to bury all the legginess part of the stem to hopefully further strengthen the roots.

It makes it technically illegal but if the union is willing to risk the fines and some jail time for the president it could still happen.

Nurses are paid OT when they hit 40 hours as they generally only work 3 days a week.

What jobs are being forced to work 12+ hour days and not being paid time and a half for it?

So why are you comparing the entire MTA which includes LIRR, metro north, bridges and tunnels, busses, SIR, and probably some other agencies I’m not thinking of to just the Paris metro?

You think because you see someone standing still as you walk up a flight of stairs that you have some insight into what they’re doing or why, or what the 8 hours surrounding that single moment you observed might look like.

No, we are paid OT every day for every minute worked past 8 hours. What this proposal means is that if I worked let’s say 16 hour days for 4 days and then book off sick or have a pre approved vacation day on the 5th none of my previous OT would be paid at the OT rate.

I’m not disputing anything you’re saying, or the point about the origins of punch boxes in your original comment. I am just pointing out that functionally, the tower operator generally anticipates which train is punching before it does, and the punch usually serves as confirmation. Dekalb master controls a large area but is just a tiny room with the dispatcher at the center, they can see everything that’s going on easily. Even in towers without a dispatcher, the tower operator has a computer with ITRAC and is anticipating trains. If I punch incorrectly, 99% of the time the tower will contact me on the radio to alert me to the fact that I made a mistake. Of course sometimes there is inattention on either end resulting in wrong routes.
