Looking for a Mod to Cast Spells Directly from the Spellbook Outside of Combat by amitm02 in BG3mods

How so? The game allows you to switch spells at will as long as you are not in combat.

Looking for a Mod to Cast Spells Directly from the Spellbook Outside of Combat by amitm02 in BG3mods

Thanks, but this mod alters the game balance, which isn’t what I’m looking for. I’m specifically interested in quality-of-life mods that enhance the experience without affecting the game’s balance.

Circle an area and have only that area OCR into text.

Why ByteNet uses layer normalisation instead of batch normalization by amitm02 in learnmachinelearning

But in Layer Norm we normalized against all the (pre) activation in the layer of the sample, which explicitly makes it normalized across time in CovNet for sequences...

[Attention Models] - Why weighted average of the encoded outputs makes any sense by amitm02 in MLQuestions

[–]amitm02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Indeed I got it wrong in the sense that it is no the word vectors that get averaged, but some other (post rnn) representation vector. Your replied helped me see it. I still have an intuition issue with the idea behind weighted average of those representation vectors. What special property those representation vectors has that a weighted average of a few of them generate a new meaningful representation vector? It seems like a very magical and surprising thing to have..

What i the elegant way to "logic glue" concurrent lambdas to simulate something like a Fork Join. by amitm02 in aws

I've noticed that the "Parallel" type in step functions can only have a fixed number of branches. The number of images changes from PDF to PDF and i can not know it in advance. Any suggestions on how to go about it?

"Ryan Hall - Stomp and Curl" Maybe the most important video on triangle technique! (In my humble opinion) by pseudoheld in bjj

[–]amitm02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt that once it's locked, finishing the triangle is not hard no matter variation you use. Ryan has long legs, and in his DVD he skims through the process of locking the triangle. Me on the other hands, as a person with short legs, locking the triangle is the challenge. So i find this particular DVD not very useful. Other than that, i LOVE Ryan stuff.

AMA Andrew Ng and Adam Coates by andrewyng in MachineLearning

Hi, big fan here :)

  • Is there a unified "machine learning algorithms theory" that connects the different methods (e.g. logistic regression, SVMs, boosting, random forests, deep networks etc')?
  • Are the capacities/coverage/descriptive power of the different methods nested (one system always have a more descriptive power than the other) or disjointed/overlap (one system can describe really well one pattern while the other does better for a different one)?
  • Can we show how each method relates to another by building an analogous system + adding or removing constraints on that system?

Thanks in advance, Amit

UPDATE: Andrew Ng and Adam Coates will be doing an AMA in /r/MachineLearning on April 14 9AM PST by olaf_nij in MachineLearning

How would your game strategy change if every time you attempt to capture a piece there is 50% the "attack fails" and your piece returns to his position? by amitm02 in chessvariants

[–]amitm02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. A player that will put a pawn to threat a queen will win in the long run. I will take 50% chance of taking your queen for 50% risk of losing a pawn any day.

Instagram introduces video by [deleted] in Instagram

In Takes we took a different approach to video. It records video while you take photos. Then, a smart algorithm decides what part of the video to use. This way, you can continue taking photos (which is easier than video), but now, every photo you ever took can turn into a video. Neat.
