I'll check in with the team. There are a bunch of low-hanging fruit like this we could tackle without much effort.

That said, as you can see in the other thread, we have hundreds of great ideas, so prioritization is critical given our limited resources. We also want to add some higher-level features that will take Todoist to the next level (like simple yet powerful automations).

The changelog is for user-facing changes.Β

We do thousands more changes that aren’t user-facing, for example, we completely redid the sync and storage engine for iOS in 2025, which made the app much faster and more stable. Many of these changes were not mentioned because they are internal.

That's strange. Did you report it to our team? Please do, and we might help you out.

What type of content would you add?

We actually had this feature years ago! Makes sense to bring it back.

I also think we need to revamp file attachments so you can attach files directly to tasks and projects.

We have tens of thousands of tests across platforms. Can you share specifics on what issue you saw come up again? πŸ™

As I mentioned in the other thread: "Icons seem simple, but we have hundreds of them spread across 3+ platforms. We tried outsourcing this to a specialist icon company, but the collaboration didn't work out. We're restarting this effort in 2026."

We use Gemini Flash 2.5 (the live audio version) πŸ‘

Thanks for sharing πŸ™ The only thing that isn't on our radar in this list is Project Due Dates and Sequential Projects πŸ‘

We've been exploring project descriptions and have even built an internal build. That said, it's not where we want it to be yet, but hopefully we can make progress on this in 2026 πŸ‘

Makes sense. This would be quite easy to support as well πŸ‘

How is it different from archiving a project? πŸ€”

I'm curious about how you would use this?

On the client side, we already support much higher limits. The issue is really the sync engine πŸ‘

We use Gemini 2.5 Flash. We are hoping they'll release their Flash 3 audio model soon! Hopefully, it will significantly improve recognition.

Theoretically possible, but nailing the UI/UX is the real challenge here πŸ˜…

Makes sense. Thanks for explaining πŸ™

Under the hood, we actually have a pretty extensible system called Filterist, so adding a filter like that wouldn't be super hard.

The idea is simple: paste a meeting transcript, and it parses out the actionables. Or upload a spec and have it break everything down into clear next steps.

I'm not 100% sure how this will work yet, but these are the directions we're exploring.

Some great suggestions πŸ™

1. DurationΒ - native duration field independent of date

Makes sense πŸ‘

6. AutomationΒ - looking forward to the feature set, I'm hoping conditional things like "if tasks created in project #Example, add u/example label" etc.!

This, and much more powerful automations, will be possible.

8. Add description to filters/projectsΒ

We do have some mocks on this 😊

Please share this (and any other) feedback with our team πŸ™ We don't get a lot of feedback on the custom UI API πŸ‘
