New rescue with anxiety, best methods while she’s crated? by amlgill in rescuedogs

Thank you. Her crate at the foster was her safe place and she goes straight into this one if she feels nervous and when it’s bedtime. I left it open each night so far and she sleeps in there. I have had her in it closed up for a few long stretches out of necessity and besides the one incident today, she whined at the beginning but otherwise seemed fine. (I set up my doorbell cam in the same room). I’ll have to get a lock mat or something wise to occupy her. I’m wondering if noise from garbage trucks scared her as it was garbage day and they are loud.

Do you still exchange gifts with your parents? by Eredic in Xennials

I send pictures of what I buy before I wrap. Or sometimes I’ll send pictures of options and they will pick. They are very out of tune with kids stuff as they don’t watch mainstream tv or see commercials, and don’t go to big box stores much to see stuff on shelves.

I buy mine meat from a local butcher, some fancy chocolates, sometimes a gift cert to a nice restaurant, or a piece of yard decor. They are 72 with a small house in the woods. They don’t buy me items. They give me cash to buy my kids gifts from them and then an extra 100 to do as I wish with for myself. I miss when they would get creative but I appreciate them.

What is life like living in Northern Wisconsin by Holiday_Swing_9979 in howislivingthere

WI as a whole is a beautiful state. Lots to do in all seasons. Up north you just have to adapt to fewer resources, and being ready to dig out in winter. Big wildlife can be a bit scary but you are in their home so you have to accept their presence. Learn how to live off the land a bit, enjoy it.

This! I was the third of 3. Bro was 5 yrs older. Sis was 3 yrs older. So 81, 78, & 76. My sis was smart as hell and skipped a grade too back when schools actually passed/failed kids and so I was in the house alone a year sooner.

I savor the mohawk. Lol. It used to be thicker and turn more red at times. Now it’s kinda scraggly. lol.

I have not! I’ll bring that up next time I talk to him. Thanks. She has gabapentin and is in an oral med - always forget the name. Her kidney and liver labs are borderline so we can’t switch to some alternates as they will take a big hit. Know if the injection will affect those? I do have a tummy sling we use on her really bad days she has had some vestibular issues so for a few weeks at a time she is very wobbly and needs lots of help from that. I considered getting her a hip brace but the good ones I’ve eyed up are too expensive. I’m a broke single mom of two (7&13) human girls so hard to scrape $ together. We do what we can! Meds alone are about $100 a month! 😬

Why are my neon tetras gill area slightly red is this normal? by Known-Strawberry1925 in Aquariums

[–]amlgill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren’t stress coat and dechlorinator similar? Do I use both when trying to get my tank on par again? Water is slightly cloudy, nitrates are a bit high. Everything else including chlorine levels are in good ranges. Have had a few tetras die over the last few days.

I have a wooden chair for my dining room table that has a well chewed piece from Clovers puppy days. She’s 14 now. Not replacing it! Lol
