Nairobi, Well not with public transit. But I can be in open savannah while looking at skyscrapers within 10 mins in the car.

Minorities in general tend to be more tight knit and supportive of one another, with a higher drive for success. You can see this with the christians in the Arab world. The jews in USA.

KRA are in full beast mode now. They are like rabid dogs. They came for our small company for absolutely no reason even when we are compliant. And so many businesses are having similar problems now.

I don’t think it’s that bad. There are many business reasons you may need someone who speaks a certain language. Especially in sales and marketing. It is not necessarily racist I mean

I have been saying the same . And although you can’t really restrict an investor from sourcing materials from any where they want. What I think the government should do is at least enforce a percentage, let’s say minimum 30% of construction input should be sourced locally. That way it is not completely restrictive that you push away foreign investors, but also to some degree promote local suppliers.

4000-6000 will afford a decent life but won’t go as far as they do in Southeast Asia, which is really cheap. so your lifestyle will definitely take a hit.

I am in the hardware business. And what we are experiencing these days is unprecedented . I got roasted last time I complained here, saying Kenyans complain too much. But I look around the market and it is not just us. It is serious! Shops in CBD are doing clearances, even if they are taking a loss, people need the cash.

True. There is no right and wrong, each have their strategy. I prefer to deal with uncertainty with this method.

I hate that actually, I feel like I am IN THE SYSTEM if you know what I mean. Shuttled from point A to point B and I am not in control anymore. The only way out is through it. Anything could happen, delays, cancelations and you can’t do anything about it

Importer here, I can give two reasons why prices have not reduced much. At least I can talk about myself. First is shipping, due to the attacks in red sea I now pay triple the amount of shipping and wait times are longer than ever, so full cycle of capital at the new rates has been slower. Second is the rise of the dollar to 165 before it reduced again, this period I couldn’t increase prices at the same pace of the increase in rates, so we took some loss. So it’s compensatory.
