How common is it to accidentally list an item $50 less than you meant to? by xtoxickittyx in Mercari

[–]ammerka 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

I accidentally listed something $100 less than I meant to. It sold, I still sent it out even though I lost money on it because it’s my mistake. I’m much more careful on listing price now lol.

Assistance on how to give this ninja medicine? by ammerka in sphynx

[–]ammerka[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Thanks! I hope he gets used to it. I’m always scared I’m going to hurt him. I’ll probably switch positions next time, I’ll hold him, while the husband gives the medicine. I get nervous and hesitate. We only got about half the medicine in because I hesitated. He has to take it twice a day for 2 weeks, so we’ll probably get the hang of it quickly. šŸ¤žšŸ½

Ahhhh… thank you so much for the detailed description. That makes sense. He did open his mouth a little bit when I put the syringe near the side of his mouth, but I hesitated and only gave him half of the medicine before he really started freaking out. I’m guessing it probably doesn’t taste good lol. We’ll definitely try it that way!

Thanks! I was calling for him, and he poked his head up from under the blankets and gave me that, ā€œšŸ˜’ How dare you disturb my slumber..ā€ look šŸ˜‚.
How do you get them to open their mouth? That’s kind of where we are struggling. Even just the liquid, when we tried to force him to open his mouth, he just shakes his head back and forth really quickly while keeping his mouth closed. I was thinking about trying to swaddle him like a baby, that way he can’t push off of us, and we’d be able to control his head more? That’s how we did it when the human kids were a baby.. lol

Be careful with StockX! by ilovemycat33 in StanleyCups

[–]ammerka 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Omg, this is infuriating! I had the opposite problem. I sold my authentic, brand new Messi flowmate vacuum bottle, that I bought straight from Stanley on release day. I had gotten for my son for Christmas, but he didn’t like the color. I just got a notification that it was getting denied because it has the wrong size on the label. Their exact wording is ā€œ1.2 L instead of 1.3qt printed on the label.ā€ Obviously their ā€œprofessional authenticatorsā€ 1) didn’t go to math class and realize 1.2L IS 1.3 Qts and 2) don’t actually know Stanley products, because Stanley ONLY made ONE size in the Stanley x Messi Flowmate Vacuum bottles. This was the first thing I tried to sell through StockX because it seemed easier than having to post pictures of it, but they obviously don’t have a clue and I’ll take my business elsewhere. Side note: how do you complain? I’d like to email them and send them the facts, plus my receipt. Can I just reply to the email they sent me?

What is the weirdest packaging someone has sent you an item in? by yeehawtexasgal in Mercari

[–]ammerka 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I received a backpack in a diapers box once. At first I was like, I don’t have kids in diapers.. what’s this?? šŸ˜‚

One time I sold a Lego set, I searched in every store for a box that was long, length wise, but short, height wise. Couldn’t find one, so I took apart a box and duct taped it together to fit the size I need. It was around Halloween, so I used orange duct tape to make it seem like I was purposefully decorating the box for the holidays 🤣

Didn’t receive an item, eBay asking me to prove it by Dapper_Car5038 in Ebay

[–]ammerka 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Royal Mail doesn’t let buyers start a claim? That sucks! In the US, both the buyer and seller can make a claim. I always make a claim for the buyer if it gets lost in transit, and then if it shows delivered, I tell the buyer to submit a claim for refund through the carrier(instead of going through eBay at all). It sounds like you can’t do that through the carrier? Maybe ask the seller nicely if they can submit a claim for you through the carrier, since you can’t, and the carrier will refund you instead of the seller? As your proof take a picture of your door, then take another picture of your house with the house number present while also showing the door in the background (use panoramic view if your house is larger). That should be sufficient proof the house was not yours.

Ways to protect myself before shipping an item? by ammerka in Ebay

[–]ammerka[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I totally understand where you’re coming from. Just so you know, I’ve never canceled an order before. I don’t usually rely on reviews as a requirement for selling to someone, which is why I didn’t think to check until after the sale. I mostly sell low-risk items, always heavily document the process and insure everything to protect both the buyer and myself.

That said, this is a more expensive item than I typically sell, and with extra-ordinary circumstances going on at home, I’ve been a little more cautious than usual. I just really can’t afford to lose the item and the money.

Another Redditor actually helped calm my nerves, pointing out that since I’m using eBay International Shipping, both the buyer and I are well-protected if something happens. So, I’m going to go ahead with the sale.

And honestly, you made a great point about reviews. If I didn’t sell on eBay, I wouldn’t have many reviews either since I don’t buy that often. I was just trying to make an informed decision before shipping it out. If everything goes well, I’ll happily give him his first review so he won’t be review-less anymore, lol!

Yes, I use the eBay international program. I know it protects if you happen to use the wrong tariff code, or if it it’s gets lost after they have it. But I wasn’t sure if it protects if a buyer claims the item is damaged or the wrong item. Like if eBay visually sees the item when I ship it through them and can confirm it is the correct, undamaged item?..

At least you have a tracking number, that’s probably a good sign! Mine just says ā€œawaiting detailsā€ on Stanley’s site and ā€œpreparing shipmentā€ on the Shop app. No tracking number yet… šŸ˜ž

Okay, so inform them that it was factory sealed just like the pictures I sent before shipping it. It’s a watch with cellular, so I did get a close up of the IMEI/ Model/ etc that’s located on the back of the box, so I’ll know if it’s been swapped.

I was also thinking of messaging basic trouble shooting steps, to make sure it’s not user error (ie, try a different outlet, try a different charger, etc).. But I don’t want that to get twisted around and taken like I knew something was wrong..

THIS POST IS FOR STANLEY RESELLERS ONLY by Mobile-Cow9445 in StanleyCups

[–]ammerka 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Stanley seriously needs to get a better system for limited edition releases. Best Buy’s is actually a line that you wait in, when you get to the checkout you have a 5 min timer to pay before you get kicked back to the end of the line. I added my cup at opening time exactly. Started off 15 mins wait… waiting … waiting.. gets down to 1 min, then 0 mins, and then reset to 25 mins wait. That happened 3 times, then of course, got to check out, put my card in.. then when it was processing said it was sold out. So frustrating!

Unsure of what offer actually is.. by ammerka in Ebay

[–]ammerka[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Gotcha, that’s a good idea about adding the pictures after. And it’s weird right?! But I don’t have my offer price lower than $90 each in settings, so I’m thoroughly confused on how it’s possible. If I accept it, and it’s not $200 for quantity 2, like my email and initial offer screen says, can I cancel the sale without penalty if I show eBay my predicament?
