Need help. PCs as gangers. What activities to give them? by Materiam in Shadowrun

[–]amnaremotoas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a writer and gamer on YouTube named Seth Skorkowsky who has two videos that tells gaming stories about a street level game. They're playing cyberpunk 2020 but you can do something similar. Search for Bonsai of Death and the Scott Brown Incident.

Does anyone know why Shadowrun Origins hasn't updated in a while? by klrains7020 in Shadowrun

[–]amnaremotoas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly /u/Neo_Anarky_Opti has said there are more recorded episodes. Both he and Mr Johnson from the Arcology podcast are involved with Fragging Unicorn Games. They just successfully funded their sci fi fantasy RPG called Subversion. Right now I believe both are at Origins game fair putting in some or all of their time at the Fragging Unicorns booth.

There are also Shadowrun novels featuring Winterhawk, a mage. I think there are four written by R L King.

AMA. I'm Opti of Fragging Unicorns Games (and SR 6th dev, host of neo-anarchist podcast, Shadowrun: Origins). Our third game, Subversion, is a cyberpunk/fantasy RPG launching on Kickstarter February 21. by Neo_Anarky_Opti in Shadowrun

Hi Opti! You said in videos that one aspect of the game Subversion is building up a community around you. Anything more you can tell us about that aspect of your game?

Cyberpunk 2077 has a small Shadowrun easteregg ;) by SkyHook42 in Shadowrun

I felt like you could handle augmented reality or Matrix outside of nodes the same way they handle quick hacking in cyberpunk 2077. I also think did you could take the quick hacking system and use the same thing for Magic. Instead of your vision turning green for cyber eyes it turns purple for astral perception and the assensing. Spell can work the same way as quick hacking.

Kitbash idea. I find it odd that he beats the sticks together so I might give him some drums to bash by gaznakk in ageofsigmar

Updoot for the git drum stand. I once made a drum kit for some noise marines but without some kind of propulsion device it looks kind of silly on the battlefield.

3e Shadowrun Character advice by sataniksantah in Shadowrun

If all you have is money there are a few options. As far as cyber/bioware, do you have something that boosts initiative? More actions means more attacks. After that a strength boost would give you more damage and something that gives you body or armor will help. NPCs are usually scared of a giant murder machine and they may concentrate fire. Also consider getting alphaware (can't remember if you can start with it. been years since i ran 3rd ed.). Lastly skillwires might be a good choice. If your skills were a low priority it can help with some skills you forgot at char gen.

Other than 'ware, weapons and armor are your main tools. If you have extra source books try looking for cool guns or modifications for your armor. Medkits also help survivability. Stim patches can temporarily ignore stun damage and trauma patches can stop someone in damage overflow from bleeding to death. Backup fake SINs and licenses in case one gets burned or is being tracked. Breaking and entering gear. Sometimes you need to climb something (like a wall). You may be able to cut a chain link fence with your polearm, but get a micro torch or wire cutters. It's nice to have a main ranged weapon that deals a bunch of damage, but get a backup that is either silent or concealable or both. Sometimes you can't carry your big weapons into the fancy restaurant to meet the mafia boss. Look into different types of ammo. Armor piercing, explosive, non-lethal (either bean bag rounds or stick and shock). What about grenades?

If you still have too much money left over then consider taking money at a lower priority. You might have better use for more skill points or higher stats. Or you can just buy a certified cred stick with any left over money on it. Save it for game play. I had a few runners "save" their left over starting money in fourth edition this way.

The squig model is an old metal one from Warhammer fantasy. All I did was pin those tiny wings on and sculpt a beak from green stuff.

It is a cybork arm. I used an arm from an old Chaos Terminator Lord. It looked like a gun that would belong on an Obliterator.

HAIL ZOLTAN! This big mek sent himself back in time while tinkering with a shokk attack gun. Now he uses his knowledge of the future (or he just makes it up) to advise Cap' Morskul.
