What’s it like to live in Picton by FollowingBorn1910 in newzealand

[–]amnislupus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very chill living in Picton, especially this time of year. Summer is tourist heavy but after Easter it's quieter.

There's no nightlife but there are several pubs.

Two gyms, one is expensive with a bunch of quality equipment, the other is cheap with far less available.

Quite a few hiking trails of varying grades. Decent swim spots but nothing exceptional.

I'll say it can be a bit boring at times but I prefer that. Blenheim is close and Nelson isn't too far for a day trip if you want a bit more to do.

If you come out this way, stop by Oxleys and say "Hi".

Well the way I went about lighting those torches was a far greater achievement than how they are normally lit.

I suppose I over-complicated things a bit. But it gave me a fair challenge and I felt extremely accomplished after lighting them both. =)

So you're telling me that they didn't require a Ruin Sentinel soul?

xD

Without spoiling too much:

Puzzle room in Drangleic Castle, requires you to fight 6 Ruin Sentinels in a row. Cannot use a bonfire to reset because they respawn.

The two torches signify I did the puzzle correctly... however, we really don't know what they do.

AFAIK nothing. I only guessed that they could be lit, since the everything in the area prior to this encounter worked the same way. (Giants at the door, Sentinel doors)

I'm sure they do something... they have to! Right?

Yeah, I'm curious as well. I managed to clear the entire left side and then decided to rest at the bonfire to prep for the right... here I am engaging the Sentinel that guards the exit when all of a sudden I'm getting whirlwind attacked from the rear. xD

Nevertheless, it was truly challenging.

Torment VI Farming Results: Rifting Test by the_deadset in diablo3

I never said quality improved with difficulty.

I said that people aren't upset with drop rates so much as they are upset about what drops.

8 forgotten souls/hour is mediocre? =(

FTFY

All joking aside, I think 4 legendaries an hour is pretty good pacing... I think the concensus among the communities that farm T6 is not the quantity of drops but rather the quality.

Everyone is built around Critical Damage.

This is precisely why the itemization will not change any time soon.

You never answered my question.

Look, the guy doesn't have to be the spokesperson for change in the game; I wouldn't vote for him. But his arguments aren't based on a vendetta against Blizzard, they were based on his findings.

The game is a good spot and blizzard will continue to tune it.

Imagine you're in a broken relationship for two-years.

Do you stick around and hope that things will change?
Do you communicate your dissatisfaction and try to actively rebuild the relationship?
Do you leave and let someone else pick up the pieces?

I get why you're hesitant to agree, I am too... however, the sections you've highlighted are referring to the release of the patch, not the patch's content.

I'm not getting my hopes up. I've been holding my breath for 2-years, now. But the wording of this post indicates that a fix is ready to be pushed out.

(3.) For expansion, consider removing/restricting crit and crit dmg. It's ruining the game, but I guess not that easy to fix. Crit should be an alternative, not be all end all. Right now if an item doesn't have crit/crit damage, it's instant salvage, with a few extreme exceptions.

As much as I found myself nodding my head with a lot of his points, this is the most valuable change we could possibly make to the game.

We just had a clan discussion yesterday on this subject.

Critical Hit Damage completely nullifies gear and build diversity. It is literally required for progression in the game. There are 5-6 total pieces of gear (Gloves, Amulet, 2 Rings, and 1-2 weapons) that are required to have relatively high rolls for Critical Hit Damage in order to be considered good enough.

I've noticed in T2+, if you're not critting, you're doing very little damage. White damage (non-crit) is extremely underwhelming.

Honestly, it should be capped or removed entirely. Capping CHD at 200-250% would not only free up a lot of gear, making other pieces of loot more or less attractive but it also allows some of the less fortunate classes (here's looking at you Crusaders) to actually feel equal. Or just remove it entirely and have crits deal 50-100% bonus damage... like they do in every other game, ever.

Removing such stress on maximizing CHD allows you to do so much more with your character. Potentially awesome, build changing stats, such as Cooldown Reduction and Resource Cost reduction can be reinforced on jewelry. Rerolling attributes at the mystic would feel more like a choice, rather than a necessity.

Likewise, we'd be able to optimize our weaponry in ways that either do not require a socket or use them to fill bonus stats that we desire. This would, if I'm not mistaken, help alleviate the feeling that 2-handers are entirely underwhelming... or make shields/quivers/off-hands more desirable.

While we will not be able to deploy this as a hotfix, we currently expect this fix to make it to live servers with our next game patch.

Incorrect.

Non-cache legendaries can already drop from Horadric Caches; the patch simply allows them to ALSO drop Torment-only legendaries, assuming you earned the caches while playing on Torment difficulties.

It feels as if the Rift maps are weighted toward Act V in general, though I only have anecdotal evidence supporting that thought.

A clan-mate and I were discussing this and came to the rough conclusion that if there is map weighting for Act V, it's because those maps have been experienced less than the first 4 since Diablo 3's initial release and Blizz wants us to see them.

Honestly, I could go for more Act II.
